Hi I'm a noob, and I'm sure there are many others like myself who would appreciate some walkthrough videos on setting up a mac or  pc for connection to a drumit5 brain, so that we can use SD2 SSD4 BFD and other software.

Thanks take care.

That would be cool. I think a walkthrough of the "conversion process" of the these VSTs to load in the module would be quite cool too.

Jerry...are you out there?  ;)

Don't even bother going through all the trouble building dsnds without SDSE is my suggestion. With that, there isn't much of a process to learn. Everything you need to know is in the SDSE thread and within the instructions that come with the download. Plus Lustar gives help to individuals that have any problems getting going with the program.

If you're up for a major Brain exercise (or bursting an aneurism) follow a couple threads where slap the drummer, digitaldrummer (Allan)  and a few of us went through processes for building dsnds manually in the Early 2Box VST/Dsnd Pioneer days before SDSE:

Each VST requires different steps and mapping and waaaaaaay more time than SDSE.

After following our progress and doing some of the manual building himself, it is so involved and tedious ..... Lustar decided to build SDSE for automating the process, and I'm glad he did.

To tell you the truth, even after building 100s of dsnds the old way and doing every one of the different VSTs I own manually .... I would have to go back to the threads and brush up on some of the same instructions and processes that I was using in the early days because SDSE has made things so automated I don't bother doing it any other way now and have forgotten the steps that used to be 2nd nature. hehehehe.....I just though the vids would be cool.  ;) I learn more by watching walkthroughs...rather than just reading them....and I'm not looking to complicate the process...I Have SDSE...and I will be using it...once I get everything else built for this kit.  :)

I get it now.... yeah maybe Lustar or someone with SDSE (and a round TUIT)  ;) can video the process one of these days. I know Lustar is so busy continually making improvements and adding more VSTs to the list of SDSE support that he has little time though.

The SDSE process is pretty simple in itself. But getting well versed in the individual VST programs is another thing. Because the way the sounds are setup in the VSTs directly affects the outcome of the dsnds. For the most part the default sounds in the VSTs will come out pretty nice for dsnds as is. But there is so much more you can create with presets and individual mixer plus FX settings and mics, mic placement, tuning, etc. in each program.

These features are exactly what drew me to S2.0 when it first came out. I love the mixer and all the mic bleeds...etc. Glad to know all those things will translate to the 2Box when converted.

I'd love to see walkthru videos for step by step instructions for the card mod and the VST conversion process via SDSE. Any way possible you could roll out a vid for the SDSE process JMan? Thanks!

Greg

Lustar

I'd like to make some videos for SDSE soon. In the mean time, the next version of SDSE will be even easier than before. Just follow the installer, it will install everything you need then you just have to set up a kit or a few pieces and click "All".

With Manfred's Step by Step with pictures I really don't think we need a video. Just look at this, it is a very good step by step process:  http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php?topic=991.0
