possible DIY add-ons

Today while clearing through some old boxes of junk, i came across some old Yamaha DT10 triggers..i think from about 1994 when i used them on an acoustic kit . They were ok i think, but the module was a yamaha TMX and i soon got sick of it !! so i was wondering if i could use these triggers with the 2box , maybe as auxilary cymbals if i make the pads myself? seems a shame to just trash them if they are usable. cheers guys....still no kit by the way but i'm enjoying the preparation and waiting haha!
