Hihat - only one zone triggered

Hi,

I just got my 2Box Drumit drumkit. Well, so far a great purchase but...

When playing the hihat, I only notice one zone (3) being triggered. Where ever I hit the hihat only zone 3 (tip) is played. When pushing the pedal down, the pedal (zone 9) is triggered.
So, I'm missing the edge zone (8). I've checked cables and settings but so far no results.

Besided that, when releasing the pedal, the hihat comes up again and when full released a zone 3 is triggered. So, when playing the hihat by pedal to get the 'chicks' only, loads of 'tip'-sounds come in between.

Any thoughts?

Scottie

Hi ezzviah

Just to let you know that I have been speaking with Lee at Music Matter about the issue with your Hihat, and a replacement is going to be sent out for you.

Thanks
Scott

Hi! I seem to have the same problem. What is the solution? New hihat-pad?
I didnt notice until you mentoined it.

I contacted the store and they ,together with the UK distributor, arranged a new hihat for me... Well, it should arrive within a few days....

I found out that there is a little spot on my hihat that doesnt trigger the 8-zone. The rest of the hihat works great so i turned the spot to the back. Works fine now.

Ok, that's good... I've tested again and there is really only one zone triggering. But, it will be solved within a few days :)

Quite a coincidence that I ran into this... one of the main reasons to sell my Alesis DM10 kit was because of the single zone hihat  ::)

BURNIN AMBITION

in all my cymbals and hi hat i have all 3 zones (hi hat is 2 zones right? edge and bow and the third is the pedal or am i missing something?)

the thing is that the space for the edge is so small that it can often trigger bow even if you hit the edge. but i suppose this is just a matter of formware and with the new version we will be fine?

Well... don't want to keep complaining about this... A new hihat is on it's way, arranged by Music Matter and Hand In Hand Distribution, and if that solves the case then it's another happy customer here!

Today I got my replacement Hihat from Hand in Hand Distribution and yes, both zones (tip and edge) are triggered now.

So, thanks for the great support.

I didn;t even know there were 2 zones on the hihat, ive been playing the entire time with only zone 8 triggering.

adorval

got this fixed, i had some metal tines from around the edge that had bent down and were in perpetual contact, causing every hit to be an edge hit.
