Hi all,

I was just wondering. I play mp3 songs from my computer to the line in of the Drumitfive which works fine.
However the computer is 2 meters away...
Now it comes...

Is there a way to trigger an computer event via the pads via midi?
An event should be something like:
Start recording drums (probably a F-key command in a recording program)
Trigger a play-next song in Windows mediaplayer.

And yes of course I could buy an mp3 player and hook it up, but is it possible?

Cheers,

in linux you can probably using mididings. But, i suppose, their will be something for windows too.

You can get a used ipod touch, then look for apps that control midi in your computer's DAW.

There are several, personally I use touchOSC on my mac.

On windows you can use an free app called VLC which is way better than WMP. Then use an app for ipod called "VLC remote" which allows you to control playback easily.

Hi hdevr000,
Yes you can. It´s very easy.
1. You need a midi to usb cable.
2. On PC MidiOX or http://www.bome.com/products/miditranslator / On MAC to http://www.nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html to translate and control midi massage
3. Sequenzer like http://www.energy-xt.com/ or http://reaper.fm/
Cheers

Hey Meistermacher,

Thanks for the info!
I downloaded Bome's Midi translator. I am testing it but no midi comes in.
I also downloaded a midi testtool, no midi-in activity.

My midi2usb cable does show activity, but nothing comes into my PC.

What can be the problem?

Hi hdevr000,
Where did you plugged midi2usb cable? Try to change Mdi In / Out. Sometimes it´s interchanged.
Did you select Midi Channel/Note in Brain (Manual Ver 1.1x, Page 27)?

Hi!

I use a midi cable which goes into my Drumitfive and the other end is USB to my computer.
Bome's Midi translator has active sensing lights in the bottom of the program.
Other programs also seem not to work so I guess it's a roblem with the cable.

I assume that I don't need to do other settings on the drumitfive to at least send a signal.
Of course every pad hasit's own note.
My settings in the node page are basic, I didn't change them.
Will let you know after I bought a new cable, they are cheap anyway.

Henk
