Does anybody use DDT Tom Trigger 12" Truss-System ?

they seem to have a "roland cone like" design ...

   Is the skin sensor less sensible to rim hits than a side sensor , like DDRUM pads and acoustic trigs or 2BOX pad.?

You can't answer that question properly. Much depends on the software inside the module. That's why brand pads work best with their own module
