Question: switching kit during a song?

Hi All,

I'm considering purchasing a DrumIt3 since it has all the features we need (custom sounds & samples, flexible busses, etc) however there's one thing we would like to know before we bite the bullet: how fast is the switching between KITs? We'd like to switch the sounds for the shells and the samples mid-song and if that takes a considerate amount of time it would be unusable. Switching would be done with a footpedal sending a Program Change over MIDI (or completely automated with a sequencer). A (small) delay for switching over doesn't have to be a problem but a silence would be...

Does anybody know if this is feasible?

regards,
Iwan

Hi!

Switching kits takes normally 1-2 seconds. You can trigger sound bank changes by defining a special trigger or do it via midi. So everything is possible.

Ah ok. So it's completely silent during switching?

Any other ideas on how to switch at least kick & snare sounds during a song?

I find switching kits quick, so during songs very quick indeed. As quick as Roland Modules more or less.
