Ride cymbal triggers bell sound while playing normal ride pattern

Hi ya

I have a problem with my ride cymbal. During playing a normal ride pattern it triggers just the bell sound for a while and switches back to normal ride sound after some time. Any advice how to fix it? What alternative hardware as a ride cymbal would you recommend?

Hi. Is this the original DI5? Those cymbals implemented bell sound by velocity switching.
So probably you have to adjust the gain.
From the manual.

When the TYPE is Cym12 or 14, the GAIN parameter has an extra cup value selectable between Low, Medium or High. First turn GAIN so only hard hits on the bow give full level on zone 4. Then click GAIN so only hard cup hits give full level on zone 1. (Note: only relatively hard cup hits result in zone 1, otherwise zone 4.)
