Looking for a Danny Carey (Tool) snare sound!

i wonder if anyone can help me out on this one. i really like to have his snare sound for my 2box. (even better would be his whole kit ;-))

it sounds like a snare drum with snares off, played with rods...

well he actually has a signature snare, but in reality he is playing a 14x8" Jeff Ocheltree Custom Bronze snare.

Yeah there's never any snare wires on his later sounds. I was hoping there might be something similar on Joe Barresi's Evil Drums for BFD as he produced 10,000 Days.... let me see...

Would love a Danny Carey sound too. I'm just experimenting with my Chad Smith snare and the Sound Editor, it could get interesting...

the closest i get to his snare is to use the the GMS Nir-Z from the "Avatar" kit or the "Black Beauty No Snares" from the old ezdrummer "Nashville" kit, which sound also very like the snare from ISIS. check it you if you havent already and let me know if you found out something new.

Yeah I know which one you mean, it's a shame I prefer BFD to Superior though
