Some more free samples--

http://rhythminmind.net/1313/?p=14

there are only 6 velocity layers per instrument but they do seem to be very good quality.

I plan to turn 6 layers into 36 by changing the loudness of each sample a few times (in soundforge).

What I thought I might try as well is changing the pitch of some samples very very slightly......

does anybody have any idea how much the pitch would shift between, say, the centre of a tom
and a few inches away?

the idea is to make it sound like exactly the same spot is not being hit every time as well.
In my case this will be more realistic.

cheers all

Hey Slap!  Tell us how you got on....

oh, all right then.

Well I thought turning 6 samples into 36 worked really well.  To my ears, when I'd finished
I didn't think you cd tell I had only started with 6 samples.

I did the tom set, kick, and ride.
The drums sound nice but are a bit soft and boomy for my liking so when I've worked out how
to shrink the decay in Sound Forge I'm going to redo them.

I'm happy to share the ride if somebody can tell me where I can send it?

one good option is to create a free Dropbox account. then put the samples in your Public folder and get Dropbox to generate a URL for you (what Dropbox calls a "public link").

it's a good idea to put the samples in a ZIP archive first (even if it is only a single file).
