I was wondering if you think I will run into any problems as far as insulation/shielding on the flat ribbon type cable extending out of the module like that?
(...)

I had never problems with it (cable length 50cm).

Also, you have had the slot and larger SDHC card for months now, have you run into any problems at all?
(...)

no problems.

Also, if I do the slot I like the hot glue idea especially since it is quick ... no need to clamp things in place waiting for adhesive to dry... Is that holding up well?

yes, this holds. but a mechanical connection is better.

Nice! Looks like you used existing mounting holes..... with some type of standoffs under the plate? Or, longer screws plus spacers?
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)

Quick question ..... OK I want to create a 32GB card now .... I have made a couple backup copies of my Drumit Five via USB on my desktop ..... One I just put all the files from the module on my desktop.... the other I right clicked on the Drumit Five drive and copied that to my desktop.... seems like a simple question ..   Should I just copy the folder that says DRUMIT FIVE to my 32GB card (card is formatted correctly already) ..... Or should I take each individual file/folder from the backup and place those in the 32GB card ....

In other words should I have the DRUMIT FIVE (Outer) folder in the card or just the individual folders and files? Also do I put the sound files plus the .metadata file, drumit.dkit file and the Drumit110.bin file on the card? ..... or just the sound files?

Thanks in advance, Jerry

(I also did the OS update from 1.04 to 1.10 ..... man is that simple..... took only a few seconds ....)

hey there, you should select all the files and folders from inside your backup DRUMIT FIVE folder, and copy all those onto the new card.

you definitely need the drumit.dkit file (it is the file that contains all the drumkits and their settings, including which actual samples are used for each drum kit), and the Drumit110.bin file (that is the firmware). not sure about the .metadata file but you may as well copy that too...

I'm now a card carrying member of the 2Box External SDHC Memory Slot Club!!! Got my gear yesterday, but had to work so only got to fool with it some last night.... till 2:00 AM. Then up at 6:00 AM ... off to work .... Tonight I did the modification... I highly recommend it... more horsePower, much, much faster to load sound files via card reader... Drag n Drop, baby.... love it. I have loaded every extra sound file from 2Box ... and still only at 15% capacity. I attached my card slot to the outside of the module with some super strong ... Killer Red 2 sided tape. I also put my original 4GB 2Box card back in the slot to test ... so I can access USB through the module if I wanted to .... just by slipping a 4GB card in... so really there is plenty of advantage to having the card accessible ... in my mind anyway.

Haven't had much time to actually play yet.... but I knew I wanted to do this first thing!! :drum2:
off to bed....later, J

Remi

Hi Jman,

Do you have an article number of the extension cable?
This is a great option.

Thanks for the pics and info Jman.

Does the module use an SDHC card or an SD card? What brand and Class did you use for a card?

Hi Rcprod: SDHC. I used the exact same card as Markuz. I wanted something I already knew would work. Trascend SDHC Class 10 32GB ... Here is the one like I bought:

Has anyone tried a Kingston 32 GB Class 10 card or heard anything good/bad about them?
