Can I do that?

Hi

Because I want to play two differents sounds for the same pad, I would like to know if it's possible to connect the midi input of the module on its own midi output without making any damage.

Did someone do something like that?

Thanks a lot.

errr, wouldn't you end up with an infinite MIDI loop then? that's not good.

another way to do it would be to use a Y-cable so that the drum or cymbal trigger output goes into two trigger inputs on the module...

It won't work
Each pad/channel has its own MIDI note number
And you can't assign 2 different numbers to 1 channel
A (real) layer function would do the trick

Thanks for your answers!

@Fishmonkey: yes, Y-cable is a good idea.

@Puttenvr: when I connect the module to my computer by midi, with cubase ("Thru" option activated), it works: I assign the same midi note and midi channel to two differents inputs (Snare and Tom3 for ex), with local mode on.
Then when I hit the snare, its sound is played by the module internally (because local mode is on), and the Tom3 sound is played by the midi (because the module sends the midi note to cubase wich returns it to the module, and the Tom3 is played before the snare (priority in midi)). Sorry if It's not clear....  ;)

Okay, but what if you want to use tom3 for a real tom3?

:) Yes you're right, there are less inputs.

I connected the midi input to output (not for a long time), and it worked.
