not bouncey

hi  -I've try this 2 box on my local store and   i'm thinking about buying one, , it all felt great except the hi? hat ped  - it was not very bouncey and without good rebound as the other peds , it felt a little bit like playing on a flour tom . does anyone else feel  that   is there something to be done?

I noted in my review that the cymbals do have a mushy feel - because of the thickness of the rubber and its looseness. However, I must say that you quickly adapt to the feel and alter your playing style accordingly. Soon you won't even notice.

I have read the rides shootout (along with others articles) and was surprised the article focus on sensitivity only and skipped the fact that you still need a firm hit to trigger a bell sound on the 2Box module. I know it is software related but what is the point of a sensitive bell trigger if you cannot trigger bell sound with light hit ?
Because of that, I think 2Box Cymbals are very capable crashes but fell to deliver as a ride.
Will have to do more extensive test in few days with mine as what I say is currently  based on what i have read here and some tests in a music shop.

I find the 2box bell almost featherlike in comparison with some of the Roland CYs.

Few days ago, I have tested a TD9 KX2 and must say the new CY-13R's bell detection works pretty well. Far better than past iteration from Roland.

I reserve my final thought on the bell detection for 2Box cymbal when I will have my kit put together  with extensive tests.

Right now, I think Yamaha PCY-155 with disconnected edge switches like Manfred suggested is the way to go for a good bell/bow distinction.

Bell on my ride is, as DigitalDrummer said, almost featherlike. Mostly I don't even have to use more velocity to get the bell, but overall I'm still hitting bell with a bit more velocity than bow.

i now have no problems atall with my ride.in any zone of it. as i found out it is simply a way of putting the ride in an angle in front of you, not horizontal. i have it in about 45 degrees angle and it triggers awesomely

Interesting that the functionality changes with an angle. I wasn't testing this. I have my ride at an angle as well. No idea if it's 45°, I guess it's somewhere between 15° and 45°.

i think it has perhaps to do with the force that hits the specific part of the cymbal surface. perhaps with the ankle, since this decreases the force taht part gets, it triggers better? i dunno. it works for me at least.just try it mate
