Gen 1 Kick pad schematic

Does anyone have a schematic or diagram for the original kick pad?

My 2Box is falling apart one piece at a time and yesterday the kick pad went in the middle of a set. The wires had broken away from the sensor (not sure how as I use an Evans hydraulic head on the kick). So, before I replace it with a Roland/Yamaha kick, I wanted to see if I could strengthen it (we did solder it back on but it went again a few songs later and I haven't cracked it open to see what the issue is this time). However, there's the sensor in the middle of the pad and a big rectangular metal plate near the top of the pad, both with removable foam coverings.

Anyone know what the purpose of the plate is?

The schematic is floating around the forum somewhere (I can never find it). From memory it's the same as the other pads with the LEDs running parallel off the ring (see http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,2714.msg22872.html#msg22872). The metal plate is the 2box logo display panel and cover/holder for the LED PCB strips.
