Hi hat Edge trigger

OK, first of all, I'm sorry if this has been covered but I can't find anything posted that answers this directly and I have been looking - believe me!

I've had a 2Box kit for just over 5 years. I calibrate the hihat every time I have to move it (gigs etc).

When I hit the edge trigger, I get a loud, fully open sound. Not just the different sound you get when you hit the edge of real hihats (or a around/Yamaha kit for that matter), it's fully open AND no matter where you hit the trigger pad after that, you get the same fully open sound. Only stomping back on the hihat control pedal resets it. Very annoying.

Any ideas where the settings for this are or how to address this issue?

I use JMans hihat mod box and a Roland CY12 currently but I have the issue with the normal 2Box hats, 2-zone cymbals, 3-zone cymbals, you name it.

**I don't use the 2Box hats with JMans mod btw - I use them the way they are supposed to be used

Hi, First off, a space of about 1 inch or more when the hats are completely open is best. So when you calibrate be sure to calibrate that way. 2nd, not sure if you are doing the extra step as described here, but that is pretty important: http://www.2box-forum.com/index.php/topic,3243.0.html
Also, just for testing you might want to try new TRS cables. The way the 2Box HH system works if the TRS cables are faulty in any way the HH will either misbehave or won't be able to calibrate at all.
That is not the normal behavior for the Hi Hat. If you need to PM me or email me, please do. J
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)
