Different triggering in cymbal pads

When I got my second hand kit the seller informed me that one of the pads and cymbals were aftermarket items and didn't originally come with the set. Since the cymbals look exactly the same (and have no serial number as far as I can see), I have no way of knowing which one is of a later date.

However, I've recently noticed that one of the cymbals seems to be triggering a bit "hotter" than the other two. I think this was always the case, but it became more noticeable when I started using it as a ride.

I've changed it around the inputs, and the response is consistent so I don't think its a settings issue. All my cymbals have a 0M gain/normal curve setting except for this one which needs a neg2 setting to respond properly.

Anyone else experience this? I've even opened up the cymbal, and it all seems fine inside as far as I could see.
