I seriously considering getting a 2box kit. I'm not sure if 2box has resumed shipping in Canada. The Long and McQuade site says its out of stock and Axe music in Alberta isn't sure when there orders will be fulfilled.

Has anyone received a kit lately?

thanks,
Gord

I've had my order in since June 2013 (L&M) in BC. I was told by the sales guy that Efkay in Montreal (Distro) is supposed to be shipping my kit this month. He talked to a higher up at Efkay. I'm really hoping I FINALLY get it. Longest I've ever had to wait for a product in my life. I'm checking in over the weekend for a status update...so I'll post back if I hear anything.

Man that has to be tough. I remember when I ordered my TD-20 module and some new pads some years back. When I missed the UPS delivery and thought I would have to wait another day I nearly flipped out.   :-[  I hope your kit comes soon.

I am going to sell my 2box module, and I will gladly ship to Canada.  I have a long history with a lot of feedback over at vdrums.com.  Jman can also vouch for me.

Well it has now been 8 months and 17 days since I placed my order. Last report was orders had been shipped from Europe and it's en route. I was told Feb 10th, then was told late Feb for sure. The distro guy had spoken to the head guy at 2box to get a concrete answer.

I just noticed this past week the largest music store chain in Canada http://www.long-mcquade.com/?gclid=CLb34-DE3LwCFc2Tfgodb0sADw took 2box off their website. It has been on there for a year, showing  "Out Of Stock"  It may be that they have taken it off until they get stock in, but that is not a good sign. The store told me they have/had other orders that have been on back order for as long as mine. I'm giving it until months end, then ordering from States if comes to that. I just didn't want to have to drop a couple of grand at once...and pay the import duty etc....But it's beyond ridiculous now. Especially when I see some of the US stores now have stock.

I'll report back if something miraculous happens  :animal:

This was the 2box page at L&M a week ago - Google Cache http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:P6DTg9ARIqsJ:www.long-mcquade.com/products/18220/0/add/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca

How close are you? Maybe a road trip would be less expensive. ;)

Another data point: I asked L+Q about delivery time. They checked with there supplier and commented that 2box went through major changes in ownership and restructured their factory’s and suppliers. They've have been waiting over a year for products to come in But are are expecting 10 sets in the next 3 to 4 weeks, with have several sets on backorder. So basically the first 10 are spoken for. They were not sure when they would get another batch in.

I'm going to be patience and wait until they figure out their international distribution. Who knows what other products could come up in the meantime. What if Roland licenses Steve Slate samples... :)

When I was waiting for my module, the thing that pissed me off the most was the total lack of communication from 2bpx and Banjo Center, both! Others have said on this forum, and at the time, I I even agreed,  that as a company they didn't owe me, as a consumer, the explanation of the innermost workings of their company. I still agree with that!  But the more I look at this situation, this is how I feel! If you are in business, whether as a small company or a major corporation, don't share your innermost workings of your company with me. I really, honestly, couldn't care less! Deliver the product that you are advertising  and marketing For Sale, in a timely fashion, and if you can't. Give me a valid reason, why not! That much,  I deserve! Remember, without the consumer, you don't have anybody to sell your product to! Your product is great, and in some ways your customer service was good, too, with replacement of defective parts, etc, but as far as communication goes,it is so lacking, it is a shame! If I had to give a grade, D minus and counting. When your dealers have to take the advertisement off their site, that tells me that they don't know what is going on either! At least tell them the truth! End Of Rant!

UPDATE:

Spoke to L&M today. They have been extremely apologetic the whole waiting process, and I do not blame them at all. They spoke to the distributor again today...and get this, delivery is expected mid March now. I told them I'll wait until months end and if it hasn't arrived I'll cancel my order and get it from the states.

I was asked to wait until mid next week as they are going to try to get it expedited from the distro. At this point I highly doubt it as the goal line has been moved about 10 times now.

The reason it was pulled off the web site was because it has out of stock for almost a year. He said they will be putting it back on once it's back in actual stock.

I've held out this long because this is what I want. I've tried Roland, Yamaha and I don't like the sounds they produce. I like the open source style of the 2box and using real samples for the brain. I'm just extremely disappointed with the eternal wait and lack of concrete deadlines being met. I understand a modify of hardware retooling, but c'mon....Tama signed the distro deal last January! In the game of tech and competition it's the ones who can deliver product when it's advertised and being sold in stores that succeed. Not dangling a carrot from the international space station that can't be reached.

I've made inquiries if things fall through next week..so hopefully I'll finally be able to rock the 2box in the next few weeks.

I'll keep you posted.

Rant end.

The fact that L+Q has removed 2box from their website is disturbing. On the surface, if I was a reseller, I'd be wondering if 2box was going out of business--Over a year without product delivery? How do you pay employees?

Is 2box readily shipping in Europe and US?

Yes, there are a few shops which you can find in this thread that have kits in stock, in the USA.
The one issue is the CAN dollar is at .90 to 1 US dollar. With the average price of a 2box kit, you're looking at an additional $250 for dollar disparity, then shipping costs, plus import duty and taxes. As it's not made in the USA, the duty is a given. You're looking at roughly $300 and change dollars.

So you're roughly looking at 6-700 dollars on top of the base price of the kit. Taxes are usually a given regardless. So 3-400 additional for shipping and dollar disparity.

I was told that Canadian distribution has at least 50 back ordered kits dating back to last year.

Well......I cancelled my 2box order today. L&M said they heard from the distro that the major hold up is to do with the mesh head patent that is an issue in the states buy not Canada. I said I had the understanding that the heads were all rubber on the new kits. He then told me May was the projected availability date for L&M to get kits.  The sales rep was extremely apologetic and didn't blame me for cancelling the order.

I wish 2box/Efkay would have just told the resellers. Hey we have a problem, tell your customers the wait is going to be insane. I could have ordered a kit from the states and had in back in November...so I'm kinda pissed about the whole thing. All in all a really shitty experience. I had over 20 emails back and forth, several in store inquiries and phone calls during the past 8.5 months.

I'll be ordering a kit from the US now.....hurray?  :-\

Does anyone know the status of the Canadian distributorship? I'm hearing varying reports from our current and prospective customers about whether Efkay is even going to distribute the line any longer. A lot of questions coming our way.
