I was just thinking about how great this is today. With the Card mod having the SD card slot accessible outside the module is such an advantage IMO.... Allan/Digitaldrummer and I have been further testing and comparing 32GB SDHC cards that are compatible with the 2Box module. So from his end and from my end we have timed the boot up of quite a few cards. This module continues to impress and please me ..... How cool is it to be able to completely switch out up to 32GB of content in about 7 seconds? Well, about 8 seconds top ;D   :patbat2box:
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)

You made me curious. Backup's of the content of my cards is stored on NAS and it takes long runs to save and load cards.

i think he's referring to swapping pre-loaded cards (which is feasible when you have the world's largest collection of SD cards!)...

digitalDrummer

Correct. We were testing the boot speed of various SD cards. So, the time from power on to kit readiness for all the 32GB cards I tested was around 8 seconds. And each card had over 32Gb of data.
What Jerry is saying is that you can have literally hundreds of kits at your fingertips now and you can swap them in under 10 seconds (counting the time to remove and replace the card in the extender).
By way of comparison, it feels like the kits on the MarkDrum kit take almost as long to load when switching from one to another.

That makes it clear. I can confirm the boot-times. I use the mod and boot-times are ~ 7 seconds for cards that are 50% utilized. Loading a kit with heavy samples in less then 1 second.  ;D

Thanks for clarifying that Allan. Yes, preloaded cards boot up in seconds..... quite an advantage though IMO of having access to the card this way  8) .... J
