BURNIN AMBITION

I guess this is one of those cases where people's perception of noise or sound can be totally different! Like I say I've been using the same patch for close to 10 years and it has never been bothersome or noisy to me in the least. In this video at 4 min. 4 seconds I demo the acoustic noise of the 22" mesh kick with that patch...... I should have said the noise would never bother anybody, except BURNIN AMBITION  ;D I doubt you will find anything quieter than your mom's custom cloth cover though....

yeah i know i am picky but in you video the kick drum with the patch sounds different than mine. perhaps it has to do with the combination of the mesh head i use along with the patch (roland mesh). perhaps it has to do with the amount of tightness of thehead (mine is pretty loose id say), i dunno. mine is noiseir than what i hear from you. anyway, i also think that with the mesh we need a patch no matter what. i will invetsigate more patches in the future. i only know that the remo patch is crap as it is total plastic. wil try different patches as well. cheers mate

I don't know whether this is the case, but occasionally some Roland dual ply heads are nosier. It is kind of luck of the ..... or rather unluck of the draw. Occasionally you will get one where there is more buzz or noise between the 2 plies. That has been discussed over the years.... dunno though whether that is the case with yours. Not to knock Roland mesh heads, those are definitely the heads I prefer. They trigger excellent and the durability is incredible. Many people are using the same Roland mesh heads for 10 years or more!
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)

time will tell. ill get 2 different patches in march and check em and will post the results.
anyway, what i wanted to say is that in MY case, having a patch is copletely different than not having the patch, noisewise. that is all. it is not that big of a problem for me since i use the cloth  i have said on numerous occasions. but i just said it.

(btw the cloth starts to dissolve where the beter contacts it. i have destroyed one opf the 2 sides. perhaps i should stop practising 6-8 hours per day lol

Your Evans patch is black one, not the plastic one right? They have a plastic patch too, black is a nylon type cloth.

Not trying to question you or bug you, but it just seems strange that if it isn't the plastic one it would cause you noise, because the Nylon patch is like a nylon cloth, not much different from mesh.

The white spot is caused by me playing with a felt beater for 30 minutes.

How does it play? better than the single mesh from 2box?

Alright, thanks. I just thought you might have found some European dealer who sells them...
Since the delivery costs are almost as much as the head itself.
Anyway, I'll give it a try.

:-)

682 is European - they're in the Netherlands.

Yes finally have made the mk2 conversion, with new 628 meshheads.
These meshheads are the best feeling meshheads on the market.
