Three weeks ago I got my new 2box set â€" great set

After just one week my snare mach was damaged and got an hole in it, the net just ripped :o

I came to the drum store and they was give me a new mach

Now two week after â€" the new mach was damaged again!!!

Now I am very Frustrated and don’t know what to do next

What am I doing wrong???

I have to say that I am playing maybe 30 minutes a day â€" max one hour…

I am not hitting hard with the stick, not at all â€" when I had acoustic set the head was live for years

The drum stick that I am using  is regular stick â€" light 5A with a ball wood head

The rest of the tom mach is 100% o.k

I just don’t know what to do now, if I will order more mach it probably will damage again

Some of the members hear in the forum know something about this issue ??

Thanks

Uri

Sad. How tight is the tension of your heads? I play with 2B's since May this year and all is well over here. You might try to put a Roland meshhead on your snare.

Are the tips of your sticks in good order?

BURNIN AMBITION

i bet it is the sticks. always use nylon tips for mesh heads. i never had a problem with 2box mesh head. i had it for 2 years and i was playin alot (3 hours a day approximatelly) and then ireplaced it with a 2ply. both mesh heads are still intact...
either the stick or perhaps you tight it too much, but i bet my money on the stock mate. also for electronic drums id say that 7a sticks are much better
you just cant beat vater manhattan 7a with nylon tips.
just my 2 pennies
2box, bengt, deve, digital drummer, Jman, Brian, Manfred thanx for everything

Thank all

The drum stick order is new, got it with the set.

I have a Nilon Vic firth stick but its 5b and I never try it yet ( it's havyer )

Buy the way, how much the tight tension should be?

edtc

i suggest to verify if the edges of your pads are slick...  if not , a little sanding would fix it...

try to buy double or triple ply mesh heads ...  ddt are really solid , but there are a lot of good other brands .

for the tension , it has to be quite tight .... i s better for accurate triggering ...

where is the hole located ?

BURNIN AMBITION

if the hole is in the middle it has nothing to do with tension etc. also the fact that the sticks are new is irrelevant. if the tip is not smooth enough it can tear the mesh. use nylon tip to be sure. it is better to spend once 10 dollars for new sticks than spend every now and then money on new mesh heads. i have my double ply mesh head as tight as it cn be. it is like my acoustic snare. very very awesome results

Lousy pictures but almost no wear and tear. Play with Balbex 2B Hickories with a wooden tip (new set when I started on 2Box on May 1st 2012). Some stick-marks but no real wear and tear.

Might want to try a Hart Dynamic head. They are double ply and extra durable.

Hart heads are single ply, but they claim the Maxxum has a dual-ply feel. Check out digitalDrummer: we have reviewed more than a dozen  different heads.
Note also that some makes are distributed in Europe and will cost less. These include drum-tec, tdrum 682drum, ddt and a few others.
