One thing just as a reminder when copying your files to a new card. Make sure you put the DrumIt1.26 and the drumit.dkit files on the Root of the card. If those are not placed in the Root portion you'll get a boot error.
I could tell you where to stick that piezo! :D ;)

certainly, Jman thanks
I've formatted the SD PNY and it works fine but ..
I can't use the USB cable between the module and computer, then upload the files in the SD card I use a small adapter to plug in the SD card into the USB socket

According to the next poster Conrad also sells fake cards. :(

I don't think Amazon and Conrad would sell (the same) fake cards. Are you sure the blue professional cards are fake ? Mine (P-SDHC32G10-EF) came in original sealed retail package. Maybe PNY changed the color or the black/blue are manufactured in different countries.

I don't think the PNY card I bought is a fake even though it didn't come in a blister pack. The card is performing just fine and reads and writes at similar speeds to the Lexar card I have which is definitely a genuine card.

Cheers

Once you do the card mod and use a card larger than the stock 4GB card that comes in the module you can no longer connect the module via USB. You need to do exactly what you are doing and just use a card reader. You can do all the same things though with the card connected via a reader, including using the 2Box Editor.

Amazon uses lots of sources, I have read reviews where people have gotten bad cards and Amazon's response was they have a lot of trouble from certain vendors. I don't know if the blue cards are fake, but to me it is suspicious especially since they have no markings on the back, that is a red flag IMO.

Contacting PNY would prolly clear it up.

Don't expect any reply from PNY. I tried contacting them - even tried their PR contacts in my professional capacity - and have not got any response.

Hi all,

I decided to buy another PNY card, a 16Gb this time from a different vendor on Amazon. This one arrived in the blister pack as as shown below. I had the same boot error as the 32Gb card until I formatted it with the formatter tool. After this it worked just fine. This leads me to assume that the 32Gb is actually genuine (it is still working fine with no issues) and that the cards are being pre-formatted at the factory to a different cluster size or something like that.

Lexar worked out of the box, PNY gave boot-error. Did a format and loading 2box files on it as we speak.

Hi Murgen,

Did you remember to use the SD Formatter tool and not Windows to format the card?

O yes. Used the SD Formatter and card works fine. Good to have a 2nd card as spare.
