Hi another post about hi hat calibration

Ok, I have had a 2 box MK1 kit when they first came out and I had to get a hi-hat replaced because it was triggering inconsistently and now I have had another issue where I cannot get it too calibrate AT ALL. I have even got another hi hat delivered but it is still the same issue. I have gone through in detail and I am very familiar with how to calibrate the high hat, even in the newer OS.

Most of the posts on the forum are about minor calibration issues, where you can here its working but just needs a minor adjustment. My issue is that all you hear is the open hi hat sound and there is no other sounds or subtleties whatsoever, its as if it does not even recognise anything is there when the pedal is being used. I got another replacement hi hat and its still exactly the same issue.

I have now done a factory reset, tried different cables, tried both hi hats, changed the different OS and have gone through each of them, tried all the sensitivity and curve setting, adjusted my hi hat stand and now I am absolutely pulling my hair out and not sure if it is the module or what.......

Can anyone make any other suggestions??

Many thanks

did they replace the hihat icluding the hi hat cymbal? if not, id guess the magnet may be screwed up

if they replace also cymbal magnet etc, then somethin is fishy with the brain mate...since you changed the cables, there cant be another thing. unless you screwed with the sounds. try a different kit sound. also there was somewhere in the forum a hi hat sound that counted from one to 10 depending on how much u open the hi hat. this could come in handy to check what the real problem is. do a search, i dunno where it is...

yes i was thinking that perhaps somehow the hihat sound file had been corrupted- it seems unlikely though?

BURNIN AMBITION

i dont think it can be unlikely. i think it is very probable.

Ok guys, thanks for the feedback. This would seem to make more sense. I forgot to mention that when I calibrate the high hat after completing the UP and then DOWN it says VOID afterwards, meaning it has not even registered.

So looks as if the sound file may have been corrupted......

I thought when I save the original files, I did not alter them at all. Is there anyway or resource to get back the original data from the module? I guess that request will have to go to 2box direct?!

BURNIN AMBITION

ask your dealer. he should help you. go download a hi hat sound file from official site and check it mate. so that you are sure of the problem

Hello.
I have the same problem! Did you find a solution?

Murgen

Tried both hihats? Reading the mail from the last poster: if you tried different cables, different kits with different hihat files, Calibrated!!! and nothing works the electronic board in the hihat might be the problemmaker. Go to your dealer and swap the hihat. If you are an adventurer you may open the hihat case yourself and if the wiring and pcb-board are okay.

A personal note: I got used to my hihat, calibrated and tweaked it on the module and found a nice hihat that plays and responds fine.
