Is there a latency issue running a midi controller into the module?

There are a lot of semi-acoustic gigs in my area where, for reasons of space and sound pressure level, some kind of hand drums are used. I'm thinking that a lap held Mandala Drum <http://synesthesiacorp.com/> into a 2Box module via USB into the band's mixer in stereo or mono would be a simple solution if the pair doesn't create lag time problems.

Anyone doing anything similar?

thought the 2box did not support midi controler ( though it has a midi in )

Think the usb port its for connecting to the pc only

but then again maybe im wrong

there is no USB-MIDI, however you can trigger the internal sounds using the MIDI in port...

Thanks for clarifying about the midi in. Is there noticeable latency or is it fast enough for rhythm instruments?

The reason I ask is that some midi circuits are fast enough for a keyboard player but will be just off enough that a good drummer will sound a bit sloppy.

I used electronic drums and other midi instruments extensively in the 80's but have not done so for decades. Its possible this isn't a factor anymore. There has certainly been enough time to cure the problems.
