diy cymbal antispinner trick ala burnin ambition

BURNIN AMBITION

i used it in cy-5,cy-8 2box cumbals.
about 2box cymbals i simply tightened cable to rod. since if they spin a little, noone cares.  about roland cymbals i wanted them not to spin at all, or even if they spin at some point, to return to the starting position. all i needed was 3 shoe laces. i found them in a drawer and came up with the idea.
a picture is a thousand words so here ya go. it is a bit "ugly perhaps but it gets the job done

For your cy-8 , there is a system to prevent rotation .... it s normally sold with them , so maybe ask your teacher if he still have them ....




And here is what the Yamaha system looks like ....



there is a hole in the cymbal , and the rod fits into it ....

thanx mate. since i bought myself another cy-5 for hhat i also have this. never new it was for antispinning. perhaps i ll try it, even though my mod works fine!!!!
