I just got a Simmons  DA200S and this thing rocks! I got it from Guitar Center in the US for around US$300 - with free international shipping for all orders of $300 or more. I also had to buy a step-down transformer (220v to 110v). I've used the amp both for practice and for gigging and it's excellent.

I also bought a Simmons DA200S at a Guitar Center. I am very happy with it. Just used it at a gig for stage sound and it did the job. Using the bands PA with bass bins for the house sound.

when i find time i will post some pics but what i wanna say, is that i reinvented the wheel here.
i got sennheiser hd201. pretty cheap headphones you cam fimd them for less than 20 dollars. they sound ok for cheap headphones but they aint good for a serious drummer. but i removed the cap and inside i but blue tack everywhere apart from the center. and voila sound got louder , better, more defined!!!!
and now for such cheap headphones , i managed to make them sound likemid range headphones. i will post also a thread at head fi. these guys oppened my eyes. noone ever did an hd201 mid as they are so cheap, but the results will blow you away. in gew days i will also have the pc360 headphones so i will make also comparisons!!!!

I also think the volume is pretty low on the 2Box module, but what about using a headphone amp ?

They run for about $25 and up on eBay.

I'll probably grab this one just for a laugh and see how it runs with my Sony in ear monitors:

as i told you i also thought the volume was low. after the blue tack mod i did, i realised volume was fine and headphones were crap. now they are very very loud!!!!

I have tried the 2box with about 30 different headphones including my top-of-the-line JHA customs and there's no doubt the headphone output is lower than other modules.
I'd be interested to hear what kind of difference that headphone amp makes (it seems to be suited to hi impedence headphones - most of mine are on the low end).

BURNIN AMBITION

i cannot argue with that mate. but you got to also take my word for it, that the cheap sennheiser hd201, after i put blue tack inside, were a lot louder, and i mean a lot. for me problem solved. perhaps it has to do with the headphones themselves. most good headphones require an amp to play well? i dunno. i just know that for me problem is solved!!!!!and i am happy!!!

Deve Loper

Hi.
Just a little notice that a new OS version is on the way with increased phones level.
I'll check the wishlist and see what else I can throw in.
Regards,
Deve.
ps. This month, really.

BURNIN AMBITION

you spoil us my friend!!!1.20 really made a great difference!!!
so even though ican start asking for many many things, they are not so important! since you fixed the cymbal issues i am fine !!!  (ok some tweaks and improvements can also be adeed but they work fine for me!!)

only thing i would really really love is a metronome with voice, that will count  (one and two and three etc, or one e and a  two e and a etc. just like the roland brains
also i dont mention the mp3 compatibility any more since i got a new car, but i guess many will still need it.
ps. if new samples are added to the site, can you just mark the really new ones , with "new" and remove the word "new" for the ones we already got? thank you

hi !

Good news this OS update ...

is it possibe to add the possibility to internaly "MIDI trig " any pad sound viaanother pad input ?

for example to trig a kick or the ride's bell (or any zone...) using a tom rim or a perc input , without the need to reassign the sounds for all kits...

For bell freaks , this could be a way to be 100% sure to trig this damn PING!

And for me an easier way to assign the same kick sound to a pad  in any kit i chose or build .... ( i allready do that using an ALESIS TRIGGER I/O plugged to the DRUMIT in , but it adds 6ms latency via midi ... doing this internally would be far better ....)

by the way , it would be nice too to have the option to assign a different sound for some kits ...

Is there some latency optimization planned for future releases ?

Is it planned to have more than one UNIT PRESET ....?  for different playing style ( GIG VS night practice ) , different pad setups or diferent sticks....  not factory presets , but just 10 user customisable presets ...

At last ,  do you plan to add the possibility to MIDI sync the module from a computer ?    it could be usefull if you use the module with a DAW , so you can use the internal click and internal delay in sync with the music ....

Thanx for your hard work ...

PS  ... long time ago i ve read that the drumit 5 will have REX files support in the future .... any news on this ? ( maybe i dreamed that... ;) )

i got my sennheiser pc360. amazing headphones. for those who think 2box should amplify sound, YOU ARE WRONG. with these headphones they are VERY LOUD. so since i owned a pair that was not loud and now one that is extremely loud, it is all a matter of headphones guys.
ps. with these headphones, druming has just becoe miraculous. i cant describe how awesome the sounds are now...
