Midi controller?

I'm looking for a midi controller that I can use to tap a PD9 pad to change kits on the fly.  I typically have just a few seconds in between songs and reaching for the rotary knob and giving it a spin is not very accurate.  The PD-9 is two zone so I'm thinking the center could be current kit +1 and the edge could be current kit - 1.  will this work, and what would you use to accomplish this?

Hi, I can't help you with the midi controller since I do all my changes via a laptop but I want to let you know that there is a lag between when the unit receives the information and when the kit is actually ready to play (on the order of milliseconds but it will be there and is dependent on the speed and size of the sd card you are using).
