The 1.40 version hosted now seems to be a few months newer than what was originally available. It works fine, I haven't noticed any changes. Would be good to see a change log from 1.36.30 at least!

It seems that since there are various rebranded DrumIt3 modules being sold now, 2Box may just be banking on those companies to develop the firmware. You'd think that they would still post the newest releases on their own website though...

Typical 2 Box , with the ever present lack of communication with it's customers and dealers , but I love the modules! Just bought another 5 to add   some  toms and cymbals

I found a hidden menu in 1.40 OS (that doesn't exist on 1.36.30)

Accessed by going to KIT - ENV page, select UNIT, hold MORE + KIT

ENV2 page is displayed with a single parameter to adjust per trigger called TRIGP (options are RIM and CROSS) it's unclear what the effect this has from my testing so far.  :-\

Something to do with rimshots and cross-sticks maybe?

Something to do with 3-zone snare pads I would assume?

Since it's on the kit page and not on the unit page I guess this is not related to assigning a trigger type or input but to assign a sound to a pad.

Hi,
I run the 1.40 on my 2box three. Everything works as before with the 90 standard kits. But I noticed the volume of the cym 1 was less than before for all kits.

I also downloaded the Dirk Sengotta Sound-Pack. I put it as a folder on the SD Card. With 1.37 Firmware some of the sounds were distorted. With 1.40 all sounds work. With the long loop there were some problems when playing with the module not reacting to input, but "off and on" cold-start worked. Not ready for stage though.

I really hope that there will be an official update from 2box.

1 year later and still no update for 2box, why? What's the excuse now?

They move like snails! We all know they don't have anywhere near the money that Roland does, but I always thought that at some point they would iron out some of these things and  really dreaming.  I thought maybe they would improve their current 2Box Drumit 5 MK2 or introduce even a new flagship!  Dreams are nice and then we wake up, lol! Now I am waiting to see if Ddrum gets back in big because they had a big headstart, way before 2 Box, and that would be cool  and probably more likely!   All that said, I still think for the money that 2 box is still the best contender right now, although Efnote and Yammie are looking good too!

Almost 3 years after now and still no new official firmware from 2box, come on 2box, I know you read this forum, just let us know if you have dropped the ball....

The editor also seems to encrypt/compress the DSND files - meaning that they also are reduced in size to about 50%. (But you must use v1.40 as the OS to be able to read the files)

Hi All!

I recently tested the The Fame Pro Editor for Windows with one of my Paiste PST7 China 18 samples. (Bow + edge 77 + 82 layers.)

My original dsnd file was about 144 MB large. When compiling the original waves files in the Fame editor - it became 71 MB big DSND file. (Note: To be able to replay this file on 2box - the 1.40 OS needs to be loaded.)

I can not say that I am missing any sound information - looks like a great compression algorithm.

Note: Quite fun to see that Fame Pro/MusicStore don't think the editor is too good themselves...:-)

Good find ANGR77!

I wonder if SDSE could integrate the new 1.40 OS compression as an option?

If the new compression is indeed lossless (not a sample rate reduction as 2box editor tuning limit) it's sounds like a win for memory saving, especially for hi-hats.

Can you also revert the compressed dsnd back into WAVs with the FAME editor?
