Hey! Just wanted to let the DrumIt community know that my first multilayer snare drum has been released in dsnd format for the DrumIt 5 MKII, MKI and DrumIt 3 modules! The samples are all taken from a Pork Pie 13x7 maple snare drum. Here's a link to the demo video - https://youtu.be/wuqEN0els6M

It comes with 6 articulations in total (split across 3-zone "A" and "B" .dsnd files, with 5 microphone mixes to choose from (direct, direct & overheads, "natural" mixed and roomy). There are also "high quality" and "tunable" versions to allow for maximum flexibility.

There is a version available with kit presets included - these were made on the DrumIt 5 MKII and use instruments that come on the stock SD card for the other instruments. So for those to work correctly on any DrumIt module, you need those instruments installed to your SD card (internal or otherwise). The full DrumIt 5 MKII SD card content can be downloaded from the 2Box website if necessary!

Hi Luke.
Nice indeed and well done, incl fine documentation!
This was posted earlier "General 2box Drumit 5 forum / New snare and kits for 2 Box"
Maybe follow up there too for better "exposure" :-)
Best, Deve.

Yeah this needs way more exposure, probably for the Mimic Pro more so than 2box! But I'll give you 12 out of 10 for the amount of work you've put into this Luke, and I agree with your tonal approach 100%

I highly recommend you release a set of toms - those would be absolutely critical for the Mimic Pro right now. Use the same mix presentation you've done for this Pork Pie snare.

Not asking for Yamaha Recording Customs but go for wider note spacing than what Slate did, i.e. 8/10, 12, 16.

I'm sure whatever you pick will be expertly produced!

Thank you very much! I'll follow up on that other post that Deve mentioned and probably ought to bring it to the attention of the VDrums forum too!

I've already recorded some more samples, including a DW Collectors kick/tom shell set. Admittedly though they're pretty standard sizes (10, 12, 16" toms and 20" kick from what I remember) but they've got a nice vibe.

The Yamaha Recording Custom samples I've used for Roland packs don't have enough velocity layers to make what I'd like, so I'm going to rerecord those at some point. The studio that owns it has expanded that kit too, so it'll be a pretty monstrous task. I think they've got 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 18" toms and both a 22 and 24" kick now. They also picked up another snare, so there's the 14x6.5 aluminium and a 14" maple too (can't remember the depth). Really looking forward to getting that lot recorded, but will have to block out some significant time for it!
