Hello I just got some 682 black mesh heads for my kit.  I was wondering if anyone has had a problem putting these heads on.  The snare and kick were fine but the tom heads are so tight I can't even get all the bolts on the rim. I have tried tightening the bolts I can get on hoping the mesh will stretch but no luck I can only get four of the six bolts on the rim.

Did you order the specific heads for your kit? Like most do on forums when asking tech questions .....  you don't list enough info to actually answer ........ Because if it was for the 2Box drums they are different. There is a thread from 4 years ago about that.

And they have specific heads for different brand drums at 682Drums.

There is a set of heads on their website called mesh heads for 2box drumit five. So naturally I bought those. Even still they don't make 10 1/4" or 9 15/16" heads

Since those are supposed to fit I assume you contacted 682Drums, right?

Not from 682 drums, but from Jobeky a few years ago I had the same issue. I had to get a longer tension rod from my spares to put on side on REALLY tight, then put one of the 2box rods on either side of it, replace the longer one with a 2box one and do the same the other side, whiles kneeling on it with my full body weight. Yeah it was a task but that's how I did it. If not for the longer tension rod, I'd probably not have gotten it on.
My Hovercraft is full of Eels!

Hello Jago,

Did you find a solution for your 682drums mesh heads? I just bought a 2Box kit on their website and i'm facing the same issue. Impossible to fit more than one rod on toms because rods are too short and the mesh head doesn't stretch enough..
Thanks!

Hi guys,

I had same problem with my full kit mesh heads order.
682 Drums answered very professionnaly to me, and returned new made toms heads for free.
Just get in contact with them, they run their job seriously!

Hi thanks,

Unfortunately 682drums didn't offer me to send a new made set.
They professionally offered to refund but i'm a bit sad because i really love the feeling of these mesh.
So i ordered a full new set of longer lugs (26mm instead of the orginal 18mm). And while i can now fit and tighten the  mesh heads correctly i have 2 issues :
-The rims are really higher because the mesh head doesn't stretch enough. It's not very conveninent to me as i usually place my toms very horizontally and it's now harder to not touch the rim accidentally.
-The rim zone is not working anymore on any pads (toms or snare). I think the piezo is not in contact anymore with the rim circle because it cannot be tightened enough.

Do you guys have working rim zone with 682drums mesh heads? No issue with the rim height?
Thanks
