Cymbal cut out when cymbal turns

Has anybody experienced this?

My right cymbal starts to rotate as I'm playing. The 1/4 inch cable eventually starts to wrap slightly around the cymbal stand. Then the cymbal will cut out. There doesn't seem like a lot of pressure on the cable, but I can duplicate it pretty easily. I then rotate the cymbal clockwise a few times and it's all good. Was annoying that it did this when I was recording a drum track the other day..and had to retake it.

Are you using the cymbal arms that came with the kit or something different? I noticed when my cymbals rock that they sometimes choke. Also check that the small allen screws that home the metal box on the underside of the cymbals are tight. I had issues with some falling out and when that box was loose, it causes mistriggering

Thanks, I'll check that out. I took the rubber off and did notice the thin rubber strip that goes around the outside the cymbal was off a bit on one side. In my case the cymbal wasn't choking but completely cutting out. Didn't have a lot of time to play this week, so I'll give it good go over the weekend and see if the rubber strip was the cause. I looked at the screws and they all tight. I"ll also swap the cable to see if that's problem.

Forgot to post an update on this. It was these cheap HOSA cables that come with the 2box kit. Basically anytime the cymbals started moving about, the cable end closest to the cymbal would cut out. I swapped cables and it didn't do it. I noticed if I bent the cable, pinching at the angle turn, it would cut out.

Anybody have recommendations on good replacements for these that are better build quality?
I see Roland makes them, are those reliable?

Does Roland make their own or does Hosa make them for Roland, I can't remember. Never bought a cable new that gave me any trouble even after 3 years but I bought some used cymbals with cables and those cables turned out to  be seven or eight years old and those cables had some issues. But in defense of Hosa cables, I have bought several new  and so far, so good! Hope I didn't just put a whammy on myself, lol!!

People give these monoprice cables high praise. The snake I bought from them was really good quality.
I'll probably give these a shot. They look much better made than the HOSA ones that came with the unit.

I've used HOSA cables for decades and never had any problems with them...unless of course it had been abused. I always secure any cables to my gear a fashion so that there is no stress pulling on the plugs or inputs though. Placement of Velcro straps in strategic spots help facilitate this.

They do look nice . I will try one if one of mine goes bad
