Hi everyone, I have new music all recorded with 2Box Drumit5

Gilt Cage, a new venture with some friends...

http://facebook.com/giltcage - go to the BandPage and listen to Mountain Language
or you can go direct to SoundCloud here: http://soundcloud.com/giltcage

and my solo stuff
http://facebook.com/withthisdeafeningsilence - go to BandPage

Wow, Mountain Language is excellent. The cymbals, in particular, are amazing. Which kit did you use (or are they VST samples)?

NeilC

They're from Addictive Drums VSTi (unfortunately). I haven't messed with the kits on the inbuilt module for these recordings as it's just easier to tweak in Cubase... But its all 2Box triggering etc

:)

Murgen

Very nice, my old symphonic heart jumped up. Lot of Pallas, Arena and IQ influences?

Can't say I've ever heard of those artists unfortunately, although I will try and listen to some now...

Hi Neil,

Just to say I really like "Machine" in your solo stuff. Excellent melody and love those drums!

Cheers

NeilC

Thanks Brian... I originally recorded that one a while back with BFD, but when people on this forum were praising Addictive Drums, I gave them a try and the difference is amazing! I use to have to spend a lot of time tweaking BFD to get a half decent sound, but AD is pretty much spot on (built in drum map - although the choke settings are to dingaling) and the kits are amazing. AD seems to be more responsive to velocity than BFD and therefore sounds a lot more realistic!

Thanks for the feedback.

Rider

Great Stuff!!!!

enjoyed both band and solo stuff

AD has a map for the 2box??

NeilC

Hey Rider, yeah on my version it does... 1.5.2 I think

digitalDrummer

Interesting that you are so taken with AD. I often recommend it because of its small footprint, which changes and simplicity. However, it has nowhere near the tweakability of some of the heavyweights - if that's important to you.
It sounded great in your recording.

NeilC

Well that's one of my bug bears generally in recording, having the ability to tweak every single aspect in any DAW can sometimes be a hindrance. I can dial in my saved kit, and literally not have to worry about it. When I was using BFD I was forever tweaking whilst recording other instruments to make it sit nice. Less can sometimes be more. Not knocking BFD it's superb in what it can do, but for ease AD all the way. And I prefer the kits too

:)

These samples are sounding great! maby you can post some samples  :) in 2box format please.

NeilC

They're just standard parts from various kits to make a nice kit, send me some instructions on exporting to 2box and will give it a go...
