Something is way off there you can definitely do rolls, fast ones, buzz rolls etc on a 2 box kit. I had one for many many years. I have played the speedlight kit at a shop and I really liked it.

Was it a demo kit, like a floor model or something? If so I'd wager it's been messed with by people in the store and it's how it is.

I can't say how, but I'd factory reset it. It can be done I just can't remember how to do it.

I have the basic edrumin 4.
Quote from: JRage on February 07, 2024, 08:34:29 AMDo I understand it right, that for kick you can use any of those standard trigger inputs and don't need extra pedal input? Do you know if pedal input can be used to connect some 3rd party hihat to 2box module?
Yes you can use any input for whatever pad you want but for the pedal input you can just plug in a hihat controller, you can connect any 3rd party pedal yes but why don't you connect it directly to the 2box? it's easier to setup.

Quote from: JRage on February 07, 2024, 08:34:29 AMIn what edrumin setup would midi-in port be necessary?

In case you want to connect another module to the 2box to add more pads and change the notes independently.

Quote from: edcito on January 31, 2024, 02:20:40 PMThis works with any 2Box module and any edrumin connected to the 2box via midi in, you need to connect your center trigger snare to the edrumin and set the positional sensing to note instead of cc data, then you take your edge samples and assign the edge sound to an unused articulation or midi note of the 2box.
Via midi in from any device you can trigger any sound you like as long as it sends/receives the same midi note. I haven't counted the amount of midi notes but that's the amount of sounds you can trigger via midi in.
You don't need a DAW  to do this, just a 2box module and an edrumin
So in short:

Export the snare edge samples in SDSE using the extra articulations set to "all" in the Zones tab.

Connect your center cone pad to the Edrumin, calibrate it and then connect its MIDI out to 2Box MIDI in using a midi cable.

Look for a midi note that you're not using like a tom's rim and set this note in the edrumin pos sense setting

Assign the edge sound to this midi note in the 2box

Enjoy

Edcito, I'm currently looking for edrumin interface and can't decide between edrumin8 and 10 model. I would like to provide enough trigger ports for a standard DrumitFive set with possibility to expand later, so edrumin4 without USB Host port wouldn't suit me. On the other hand, the only extras for edrumin10 over 8 are 2 extra trigger inputs, 1 extra pedal input and midi in port. What model have you bought, btw?

Do I understand it right, that for kick you can use any of those standard trigger inputs and don't need extra pedal input? Do you know if pedal input can be used to connect some 3rd party hihat to 2box module?

In what edrumin setup would midi-in port be necessary?

Sorry for so many questions, perhaps they are already answered in some forum, but I couldn't find answers in product's FAQ page.  :drum2:

Yes I understand that but what I mean is that when I trigger the 2box midi note for foot (B2) through the midi in port ( no physical hihat connected to the hihat input) the 2box sounds the splash sound, whereas in every other module I've played the foot note triggers the chick sound. I wish the 2box did the same.

And also, what was your reasoning behind not allowing to change the midi notes for hihat/cymbals independently?

drumit foot midi is note on when down (vel on how fast down), note off when up.
Short time in between (some modules might send note on and off very quickly) is foot splash, long time foot chick.

Similar to real hat, when the plates meet, decay starts. The hat doesnt "know" when it opens again, so foot down is same for chick and splash, until it opens again and the decay is taken away.

So the plot thickens, I just checked with my roland digital hihat and it does the same with the roland td-27 module! playing a full open sound it keeps ringing when pressing down the pedal slowly! so maybe it is the way a real hihat sounds? I haven't played acoustic in years so I don't know.

The only thing now I wish had been implemented in the 2Box OS is just the sending of a chick note instead of a splash note, the "foot" note B2 now sends the splash sound and not the chick, I wish it was the other way around....

Well I just understood what the OP meant and I confirm it, when playing a full open hihat (CC4 Value 0) and then pressing the pedal slowly the full open sound keeps ringing until it reaches full closed position, it doesn't have to do with the pedal or splash note as I filtered the note off and the same happens.

Maybe the signal of the kick is too low (regardless split). Bigger piezo, other way of attachment?

Then, it might be too hi imoedance so it is sensitive to signals from others. Allthough a normal split cable will only have the common trs as possible xtalk point.

Sure your splut cable is ok?
You tested other tom inputs with same split settings?

Parallel resistor, each end over the piezos ends. Maybe 10 k?

Bedt, Rik.

so, i got a voltometer and tested teh cable for continuity. it is crap. thanks thomann for giving me a headache. morons... so problem solved

The sounds are okay and all, but i dont really like the sensitivity of the hihat, despite calibrating it. There are other settings that i tried changeing but i dont know what they do, because it doesnt change nothing. Also the snare is okay, but i cant do a drum roll for example. I tried looking and i dont see any sensitivity settings or nothing i can really change. Maybe im just blind, but that is why im asking..
Is there a way to maybe tweak the settings to make it better, because online everyone is praising this kit, but to be honest my second hand milenium mps 850 kit was a bit better(maybe im bias, or not used to this new kit, idk). If y'all have this kit with the original hihat stand stand that comes with the kit, could you share your settings or point out something to help me out?
Thanks in advance.

So back to pootube for videos and demos. I started big, or so I think, I put positional sensing on the 2Box Drumit 3, full positional sensing, not only edge sounds like other modules, but true Center, Off Center and Edge sounds.
