Jman, I assume the samples are the same even though the names have changed (to protect the innocent ;-)?

Do the Gen16 hats offer an 808 and/or 909 type hihat or are they just natural cymbal sounds?
Thanks.

If you have the dsound tool it is quite easy. There's plenty of info here on the forum of how to import the wavs and create dsnds for import into the 2box.
Have fun!

FWIW: 73 samples for 3 drum kits doesn't cut it for me. I usually have almost that many for one drum.
Just sayin'

welshsteve, I hope you carry a line conditioner. It will help you especially with the outdoor gigs. I wouldn't leave home without mine. Not a major investment for peace of mind.

I didn't realise that Wronka is out of business. Does anyone have any information why and if he still supports his triggers? They are a great product.

I found an issue with my setup in DKIT manager (v1.4.7) that maybe someone could check on theirs.
Going back to the original factory kit setup (Minneman Kit) that uses the Maple Toms, or any kit for that matter, all but Tom 3 respond normally. My Maple Tom 3 for some reason is very low in volume when auditioning with the kit setup button. When I check the sample in the "sounds" list it sounds normal.
It doesn't matter what kit (or kit slot) it is in, it is always a problem. I thought that I might have a corrupted sample but the Tom plays normally in the 2Box module.
Could someone please check on theirs and report back?
Many thanks!  Tony G

So Jman, are you saying there is no new offering from 2box at NAMM this year?

I completely agree but wouldn't this affect the 2box factory samples? Some of the samples are very useable (to me anyway). It would be really productive, now that we know the shortcomings of the module (i.e. the module's EQ midrange boost), if the samples we convert would somehow take this sonic manipulation into effect and compensate for the module?
Lustar, I really don't want to complicate your already above and beyond excellent project, but something to think about if it is even possible.

I really think you should check out Jman's conversions. You won't be disappointed.

This still won't give you any more channels than the drumit 5 is capable of producing though.

"However, the number of instruments available *should not* be an issue. This, for example, is a clear advantage of acoustic drums. For example, you buy another cymbal and that's it. You have another instrument at your disposal. With electric (at least in this case), not so. I find that to be a limitation.

The technology should not be the limitation. It's the 21st century. Our phones are already heaps more powerful than a machine that led people to the Moon. Adding a few more instrument channels (or whatever) should not be a limiting factor.
And that's the whole point of my "request" here. Or at least a wish."

Just as with acoustics as you state, you could simply purchase another module and trigger via midi. I know it's not what your intent is but 'technology' does have a price tag. Just look at where Roland has gone pricewise. I think the economic reality of the 2box makers is to produce a superior product that can still be in the realm of affordability to the masses. As technology progresses (just look at the evolution of computer memory and storage capability/price) it is coming but may take some time.

I think this may clarify. Unlike, say an Alesis D4 which has a huge number of short sounds, the 2box processing capability is designed for the finite number of trigger inputs (midi note assignments). To achieve what you are trying to accomplish would mean an enormous increase in that processing power/function (to be able to simultaneously process and play many more sounds assigned to midi notes/channels). The sample sizes in the 2box unit are so much more elaborate than in the basic Alesis D4 and other modules that are capable of doing what you seek. It is possible with some modules but the sacrifice in sound quality is something you'll have to deal with.
Hope this helps.

Hello, I have the same combination and have found that if you use a Remo muffle ring (and tray) under the head, your issue will be gone.

Good luck. Tony G
