General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Re: Paying for it

Wow amazing sounds there! Thanks for the heads up mate!

Seeing how the collaboration between 2box and BFD just went down the drain, it would be interesting if 2box could do some business with these smaller companies. I would gladly pay for the module to include already some extra hihat samples like this from voxengo. It's not that hard enough is it?
I could picture it like this:
1. User buys 2 box preloaded with the instruments we already know
2. 2box indicates somewhere in the manual or website, that they offer the capability to load more samples from NDK, Voxengo etc. for an extra price.
3. User buys this add-ons and receives a .dnsd which can load onto the module without having to go through the tedious process of converting and bouncing and whatnot
4. User is ecstatic and recommends the 2box to all his neighbours, cousins and girlfriends :animal:
What do you think 2box? is just business....

It's really cool the 2box drumit 5 is starting to intrigue other members in other edrums forums. I'm a member in one of them and I mentioned that I've ordered my 2box module and hihat and they are very interested in this.

Most of them, the members, are in America though, where the 2box isn't available. All they can do is wait for it vividly :'(

Too bad easter time got on the way.... my module is still on hold with the shipping company, it won't be here before next week...

Can't wait to check it out! :patbat2box:

He's set the sound of the floor tom to the same as the bassdrum, so he was using that to replicate the double kick. Or at least thats what I understand from the explanation under the video.  :)

That's what I saw too, floor tom as second kick..

if you look carefully in the area just between the edge of the mesh head and the rubber rim, you will see the o-rings that hold the rim in place. older pads only have 3.

Ah ok I get it, thanks. And the new ones are made of aluminum right?

All of my drum pads have the 5 O-Rings so they are MKII which is good.  :)

Care to share a pic or two? i'm about to buy some pads and want to make sure they are MKII...

Thanks Putten, I've made up my mind and ordered the 2box module and the hihat :patbat2box:
I will try them with the "roll and" pads, if it works fine I'm gonna get rid of the td12 module and will have a hybrid kit. I forgot to mention that I'm an expat living in Australia and I have no idea how long I will be staying here, so I will much prefer a compact but powerful kit (I've own the td4 and td9 and they are compact but not so powerful hehe) so I might start adding the 2box pads and selling the "rool and" pads ;D
And I love orange! Why do people hate it? ok maybe the silver rack does not match it but I think on a black rack the pads would look sweeter

Hey! I'm Ed from Sydney. I currently play a Roland TD12kx, the latest model, but, as it's widely known, they only improve the hardware and the looks of it and not the sounds in the box:(

I'm not a pro, I just want to play along with my fave music and I'm considering switching to a 2box. Even when I know that I won't recover the costs of the roland, I'm tired of the same sounds, machine gunning and the horrendous hotspot. I don't want to spend hours fiddling with the settings just to eliminate that and I couldn't care less about cymbal swells, positional sensing or hihat expressiveness (I have a VH-11 and, believe me it's hard to set), that's why I'm thinking of taking the plunge.

I'm researching the best prices here in Australia, so far the best offer I've found is $3399 (2489 eur aprox). Any aussie with a 2box around here?

Alternatively, I could consider buying first the module and the hihat alone, which are available from edrum attic and try it with the roland pads and cymbals and see how it all works out. Just a couple of questions: 1 - Are there any differences in the pads of the 2 versions beside the 3 bolts? 2- What about the cymbals, especially the hihat? Are they the same?
I know the rack and the pedals have been improved already but I think I'd still replace them with my iron cobras ::)
Ok enough introduction, hope to see more 2boxes around and remember everyone has their specific needs so don't bash me about the comments regarding hihat expresiveness. :P
Cheers,
Ed
