Lucky I didn't! The hard drive on my Mac died last week. And three months ago, the main board had to be replaced as well. So much for Macs being dependable! That said, the service was excellent.

Haha, yeah I agree, hardware-wise macs are a rip-off..... not even the most expensive mac (laptop) has a HDMI output! whereas a $500 asus has even 3g modem...
But in the software and plug and play arena, don't tell me it's not amazing your audio device is recognised instantly by the mac?
And don't get me started with the trackpads on a pc.....

Anyone else having trouble running DSoundTool in Windows. I have it running fine on my Mac, but can't get it going on my Win 7 laptop (where all my VSTs reside!).
On the mac, it launches straight from the web link, but won't do that on PC, neither will it instal from the zipped folder.
Any suggestions?

I think you'll find Ed was probably the first person Down Under to take the memory plunge.
On the pricing issue, do you think Roland owners would think twice about the opportunity of gaining 32GB of memory for just $80? I reckon they'd jump at it. Compare that to what you can do with a CF card on the TD-20!
Now make sure you have a play with the module before you do the mod!

Hehe, yeah, but I'd happy to see more aussies taking the plunge, firstly by purchasing the module and then by creating their own dsnd's out of their favorite VST.
By the way, the makers of Superior Drummer just gave their customers their (temporary) approval to create dsnds from SD2, but I'm sure Jman is posting it right now, so I better shut up and wait for his post

Have you done the memory mod to your module yet? I just ordered an SD card extender today... now gotta cough up another $70 for the memory card... bloody money pits these things!! lol

Ha, yeah, GAS is not as extreme as in the roland world but still.... Once you got a 32 Sd card you start asking yourself "now what VST should I use to create my own dsnd's and fill this bloody card" hehe

I've done the mod, easy as pie, now I just take the card out and insert it in my mac directly without using the usb port of the module. Hope you get your orange box soon.

Just wanted to introduce myself... already been a member at the vdrums.com forum (Hi Al, hi JMan!) and recently purchased a 2Box module to start mucking around with. Still waiting for it to arrive. In the meantime, I'll start reading everything on here!

Will post some pics of my kit when I figure out how! It's been featured in DigitalDrummer mag in the monster kit section

Here stopping by and saying hello (going back to the original subject...), I'm not new here, it's just that my former account was gone with the 400-spam-accounts-clean-up, no worries because being a daily reader of the forums I had very few posts, I hope this one serves for UC to know that I'm a human being who deserves to survive the next clean up

Next week my kit arrives, we'll see if it leads me to leave the silent mode, hehe.

Good to hear from you Juan, I don't care about the post count neither, it seems ridiculous to me how other people in other forums brag about having 455000 posts... most of them saying "I agree" or "that's utterly rubbish!"

using a VM on a Mac shouldn't be a problem per se.

I'm using parallels an the SD card is not recognized by the VM when inserted in the SD card slot. Maybe VMware does? I don't know, but parallels don't work....

there's no doubt that sandisk makes the best sd cards out there, but they are priced accordingly....cheapest I can find is $125 whereas the trascend was $75. If you have the money, go for the sandisk, otherwise the trascend is ok I think...

Anyway, how big is the rack? What would be the minimum size for a carpet to fit underneath? I just got pads and brain yesterday and I'm still waiting for the rack and I'm so impatient ... it's killing me. I have to go buy a carpet to compesate for not having the rack (and be able to play) yet!

but now i dont know if formatting is necessary...i work with apple computers so that might be another problem...anyone with the same Transcend sdhc?

I got the same and it won't work using the usb port of the module due to its 4gb limitation. You'll have to mount it externally using a SD card extender cable for it to work with a mac. As soon as you plug it in the mac will tell you that the card is not formatted or that you cannot copy any files to it.

But no, no formatting needed. Just don't use the usb port of the module.
