Hi all, I think Scottie may be able to shed some light on this, but there is an editor in the limelight, I don't know what format or timescales... but here is something going to come soon...

You really need to try each setting for the HH as they are all a vast improvement but depending on your playing style will differ for different people...

I must go dig out some of their stuff again...

Hi all,

I did the update last night... Pretty seamless experience for me, power up in USB mode whilst connected to PC, dragged the .bin file to the root of the DRUMIT FIVE drive, reboot the brain... DONE!

As mentioned all levels are set to zero (maybe a future update could see these all set to 50%?) so I quickly put them all up halfway and saved.

Then all I did was check out the HH. I set mine to Pos1 which seems to work best and get a definite closed to open and all inbetween. Will get a chance to play again this afternoon but so far the new OS is great!

Cheers

OK, well I think I'll have some time later so watch this space...

Hey Travis! Thanks for the feedback!

Oh yeah none of them are final products! Did you get bum notes on drums or instruments?

All the parts need re-recording, they're basically guide tracks at the minute. The way I record is do a 'demo' actually learn the songs then re record to get them final...

But all of the drums are superior drummer. Actually - what I might do later is re-record in the MIDI through the unit and get the 2box sounds on them? That would be interesting....

Hi all, I know there is a music section on this forum, but has anyone done any recording with the kit yet?

I have here on my Work In Progress site - the tracks are work in progress too done using Drumit 5 with Cubase, Superior Drummer 2 with DrumKit From Hell. I spent about 2 hours on each track (played all instruments) and these are very rough (no quantize or tweaking yet)

Have a listen http://www.neilcarden.co.uk (the tracks auto play - so be careful if you're at work!)...

Anyone else got any snippets of work???

:)

I have recently moved out of my practice room as the band is on hiatus at the minute :(  so have used my Pearl HH stand in place of the 2Box one, and I must say - in most respects I prefer the 2Box one. It doesn't move or rattle or anything, it;s responsive especially for footwork etc... So it;s horses for courses really...

Also i'd like to point out that my cymbals never had the choke facility

Have you checked that Choke is turned on in the unit?
#145
I'm assuming this is an ex-display pedal? ie it has been used in the shop to demo the kit etc...
#146
1. The unit is basically full on opening from the box (samples/system data/.wavs...) deleting the wavs will free up a lot of space, and also the samples will. But don't delete samples you don't want. ie, i KNOW there a samples on there I will never use! Cannot extend memory but future algorithm will be able to compress samples more without loss of quality.

2. wav only at the moment, I don't know if mp3 functionality will be added later. Although you can attach an external player.

3. Not sure about this, I assume you change an existing kit with sounds you want. Again from my point of view some will NEVER be used by me....

Hope that helps.

Just a note on this...

The rubber pads on the bottom of the HH and kick pedal - not good at all, you put on then put the pedal down and it comes off.
Once they're in place they're 'OK' but not amazing. I don't use the supplied kick so can't comment but HH is ok.

Never used it persoanlly, but my guitarist uses them, he recommends them - but he has had issues where they have said in stock but then places the order - goes through and then gets an email saying not in stock etc....

I got my kit for less than £1600 from andertons.co.uk

Seeing as there's a hundred kits and therefore avast amount of variations for user made kits, it would be quite difficult to do a demo that pleased everyone?

I did a whole sample here:

http://www.neilcarden.co.uk/audio/2boxSamples.mp3

Which plays through every kit - but some people said there is distortion - I listened again the other day adn cannot hear it, but these are raw as they come out the unit...

If you have a MIDI file of a beat you would like to hear - pop it over and I will try some different kits for it - which resemble the sound you're after?

Personally I will be using Superior Drummer and /or BFD for recording as I prefer the sounds and the tweakability...

Hi Scottie, hope the wee bairn is ok?

I dunno if I read on this forum or another but Bengt had confirmed that there were gonna be numerous improvements to next lot of kits (hardware wise) will all these be available to exisiting owners, and how does this get sorted?

Cheers mate
