If you can get hold of any Windows 7 or Vista you can install without a key to trial for 30 days, but after then it obviously wont activate. I don't think you can download the Windows 7 beta or Release Candidate now as obviously the real version is out....

...and to all those people who say the rack is weak and wobbly...... Watch this vid. No movement at all!

Good vid there mate!

Not with Windows 7, however I dunno if XP or Vista is different...

Well when I first got my kit a few months ago, I think there was about 10 people on this forum and I couldn't really get anywhere in terms of MIDI... I messed about with the MIDI notes in the brain, then with the mapping on SD, and managed to get a set up that works for the HH.

The only way I could get you the same set up is to send you the .dkit file which holds the settings for MIDI/vol/vel etc etc... and my neil_midi preset in SD. I know this would work as I loaded a fresh .dkit into the brain and it would have took me hours to assign everything again so reverted back and it works... let me know if you wanna try this and I will send you the files... (but it would be at your own risk etc etc)

This is something I have been having a lot of trouble with... a HELL of a lot of trouble with... It would help if the MIDI notes weren't an octave out on the unit to waht they actually are when triggered...

I can confirm that it doesn't like 64 bit OS either...

Scottie might be best answering this, but I don't know if that should work or not. I go from MIDI to MIDI, not sure about MIDI to USB.

Haha, you will never keep updates from us!!!

I have just upgraded the Boot and the OS, no issues whatsoever!

I know a lot about PC's but not Mac's... howver there is a 30 day trial on this:

would virtualisation not work?

Hi Daniel, it is of course possible to connect to Virtual Intruments but you have to use the MIDI out connection not the USB. The USB on the unit currently doesn't transmit MIDI data, only the 5-pin DIN connection does.

Hope that helps

Hi all, this one probably for Scott.... but...

Do we know when spares/accessories/extra's will be available? You know like extra pads or cymbals, clamps etc...

Cheers

there no machine gunning effects on the roland td12-20 kits,

Please listen to this
http://www.rolandmusik.de/demos/videos/TD-20/index.html
it's full of machine gunning

That is not a very pleasant sound!

Hi,

I didn't change any settings on the unit, I just used the MIDI out into the MIDI in on my firewire card.

Local On/Off will just turn the sounds on or off in the brain, and as you said the 'thru' wont make any difference. I am connected through MIDI and not USB. As far as I am aware the USB only allows transfer of files etc not MIDI.

So that might be where you issue lies? Can you get hold of a MIDI cable to test?

Don't forget there's the Official demo sounds here:
