Hi all, this might be easy to do, but I can't find where to do it...

When I recording via MIDI from the 2Box into Cubase 5, the midi notes (in the editor) are so narrow I can't move them withought resizing them first... does anyone know a way of setting a default size of the individual MIDI notes? It would probably be easier with a picture but am at work at the minute....

If anyone knows what I mean, let me know, if not I'll post an image....

your music / With This Deafening Silence
May 25, 2012, 01:17:07 PM
Hello all, long time no see, and my work got rid of it;s stupid Proxy gateway!

I just ended up leaving Stonerun due to lack of moving forward and they style of music we were doing, and am now regularly back in my loft on my trusty 2Box. I have recently re-recorded/souped up some demo's I did back in 2009 and literally this morning created a Facebook page. Not really a massive fan of Facebook but here you go: http://www.facebook.com/withthisdeafeningsilence

Also you can get me on SoundCloud: http://soundcloud.com/neilcarden

More stuff on the way once I get a bass guitar sorted.

Cheers, glad to see the forum is still going strong!

Afternoon all...

It came to my mind yesterday that there isn't a one stop shop for all things to do with our favourite eKit. You know, there are videos here there and everywhere, audio clips, hints from users on here that inevitably get lost due to a forums nature...

So I have set this site up:

http://www.2box-forum.com/resources/

I haven't even begun to get started with it, but have a look and see if you think this would be useful? If you have any ideas or want things adding then PM me or reply to this thread.

As time goes by I will put on compatibility lists, users own website links etc etc...

This is work in progress at the moment but if everyone thinks this would be helpful then I will get it up and running properly!

Thanks, feel free to let me know what you think!

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Major Problem....
December 23, 2009, 11:05:08 AM
It seems some people are able to play the kit during the day when I am at work. And that just isn't fair!

Seriously though, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Xmas, and thanks to everyone who uses this forum, I have learnt a lot and I hope I have helped some people out too!

Big shout out to UC for creating the forum and of course to Scottie for his tireless chasing of 2Box and other distributors across Europe!

Massive thanks and seasons greetings!

Neil

Hi all, I know there is a music section on this forum, but has anyone done any recording with the kit yet?

I have here on my Work In Progress site - the tracks are work in progress too done using Drumit 5 with Cubase, Superior Drummer 2 with DrumKit From Hell. I spent about 2 hours on each track (played all instruments) and these are very rough (no quantize or tweaking yet)

Have a listen http://www.neilcarden.co.uk (the tracks auto play - so be careful if you're at work!)...

Anyone else got any snippets of work???

:)

September 10, 2009, 07:23:48 PM
Hi all - here is our EP online:

http://www.machinesband.co.uk/prerelease.htm
http://www.machinesband.co.uk/observations.htm (hover over the centre of the screen)

quite old now (well a year and a bit). no electronic kit but some nice tunes...

We may be calling it a day soon due to issues out of our control, but we should have a couple more recordings...

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Factory Reset
September 03, 2009, 05:43:21 PM
Is there a way to reset the Brain to factory settings? Or can you download the original files to load back onto the unit....

Can't find anything in the manual...

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / MIDI Map
August 10, 2009, 05:54:00 PM
Hi, Scott you might be best to try and answer this?

Does 2box have a MIDI map for use with BFD? I'm struggling to set up manually as the documentation appears to be wrong... and so does BFD?

In the manual it says that the kick is on note C2
In the Brain it says the kick is C0
If I use the learn function in BFD (you press this then the pad you want to assign) it says C1

So I am very confused... also it's not easy to figure out which notes chokes are or rims of drums, as it seems there is no consistency between the 3 areas?

Anyone shed any light?

Thanks
Neil

OK, so hope there's no copyright infringements here or anything I'm assuming not, but I have looped a few bar sample for each kit, sorry it's nothing exciting, quite boring, and not ALL the sounds of the kit will be heard, but Kick, Snare, HH, Ride, Crash and toms will.

I think the sound file is a bit right side bias (due to my inputs not the brain), but it's totally raw out of the brain itself exported to 320kbps MP3... Here is the list Scottie provided, so patience will be needed...

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Drumit 5 Recordings...
August 06, 2009, 03:33:53 PM
OK I was gonna record some samples of the kit in my set up, but as soon as my new kit arrives, my PC dies! So my new quad core is coming tomorrow and I will spedn this weekend playing with the kit in Cubase,

So if anyone wants any of the particular kit sounds recording (list from Scottie in a previous post) reply here and I'll get a raw mp3 recording done! solo or with music....

Hi guys, I have a question about the kick drum. If you look at the attached pic, the dark blue rectangle shape is like extra padding underneath the batter mesh, i assumed that this is where it's best played, so I set it up for there (which was naturally where my beaters were set up for the acoustic kit) and I thought OK. I played on the kit for a while and though hmmm the kick is a bit week compared to the rest of the kit, I then got my stick and hit various parts of the kick, and where the light blue circle is gave a masive increase in sample and sounded much better, so where is the correct place to play the kick?

Any ideas, or thoughts?

Hi all, just thought I would get involved with this forum as beeing a fully fledged user...

A few pointers:

It will take a couple hours to set up, I found the manual slightly unhelpful, but all the same better than nothing
Make sure you calibrate the HH. I didn't and I thought it was the worst e-HH ever, but not so if calibrated.
The stand is very light, and very sturdy. I'm a very hard hitter and this will suit me fine!
The sounds are good - not had chance to play with them, but I will be using BFD to practice through etc.
The USB to PC connection is rEALLY slow so copying your own drumless .wavs will take time and not always 100% accurate.
The kit is very playable.

I am VERY impressed with this kit. I bought it as my Pearl kit is in our practice room and cant always go and hit when I want, this enables me to...

All in all I cannot fault this kit!
