One of the earlier posts from Rendrix specifically mentioned that he's created his module based on the 2box... I'll have a look and see if I can find it and post a link.

I think Rendrix in the Philippines make a module based on the 2box system:

All sorted now - I went through the hi-hat setup process and then adjusted the settings to increase the aperture and make it a little less sensitive.

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / VH11 Hi-Hat Issues
January 16, 2022, 06:51:05 PM
Hi All,

just upgraded to a VH11 hi-hat controller from a go-edrum - which is generally much better. One issue I'm having though is occasionally the controller will register the hats as open when they are closed and play a sustained open hats noise. Additionally sometimes the controller doesn't recognise the hi hat has been closed while playing a sustained sound, and so doesn't end that particular sound.

Anyone else come across this at all? Any tips on how this might be resolved?

Cheers.

Thanks Steve. Anders from Zourman is working a solution to combine a BT1 and Pad into a Yamaha 3 zone pad signal - I was just wondering if there was an off the shelf solution.

Just pondering if the ATV 13" Snare Pad registers as a 3 zone snare on the 2box module? Or does it just register as a 2 zone pad?

Any help/insight appreciated.

Thanks

My understanding is that you can split the signal on the tom and snare channels - but not on the cymbals.... feel free to correct me of anyone know's any different.

Are you using a balanced (stereo) jack cable? The module won't register a change with a unbalanced (mono) jack cable.

Have you tried Edrum Centre? I know the distributor is Hoshinho USA - might be worth talking to them?

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Best Hi-Hat Controller?
November 19, 2021, 05:23:55 PM
I currently have a goedrum hi-hat controller which I believe has a closed, 1/4 open, 1/2 open, open mechanism - and I find that I don't get enough gradation on the hi-hat cymbals opening. Is there a better (and affordable) hi-hat controller that will work with my DI5 mk2 module? (FYI I'm using a Yamaha PCY135 as the hi-hat cymbals pad)

Thanks in advance for any help received/wisdom shared.

I think the idea is that you dial them in using the instructions in the 2Box Drumit Manual - which you can download from the 2Box website.

If you are really struggling I know that Jobeky will be happy to assist with settings. If you drop them an email then I know Colin will respond with some helpful advice/reccomendations.

Love this solution and looking forward to seeing it go into production. Would definitely save me a slot on the back of the module (I wish 2box would release a module with a few more inputs and outputs)

I take it it can be used to amalgamate a piezo-piezo trigger and a Roland BT1 Piezo/Switch Trigger bar into a single Yamaha style 3 zone trigger input?

I'd like the following:

  • Ability to assign a cymbal to Tom 4 (enabling cymbal choke)
  • Compression and other effects (different types or reverb?)
  • Spline function on pad dynamics
  • Sound layering
