DrumIt 5 Hardware / real feel cymbals anyone?
October 26, 2018, 11:44:06 AM
hello after long time.
2box has been awesome all these years. 7 years going strong!!!
but when i want swing fast or play fast in the hats, the plastic cymbals really reduce my speed (and alter my feel). i think it is time i purchased a real feel hi hat and ride (dont care about crashes to be honest)

what optons do i have?
zildjan low volume cymbals will need also a new brain which i dont like.
other options are goedrum new real feel cymbals and jobeky.
is there any other option? that is also compatible with drummit 5?
i know jman makes cymbals but they are not real feel (i mean they dont have the small holes to really reduce noise. i would really like a reduced noise for sure.
so is there goedrum and jobeky my only real options? or is there something else i should consider?
all suggestions are appreciated
thank you

ps. jobeky are way expensive and they are not available to purchase from europe, right? that would skyrocket their cost....

should i download the drumit 3 card files? are there any sounds not being included with the drumit 5?
cheers guys. take care

one question. do we have to mount a magnet underneath the foot plate? also, any ideas on a retail price?

Other e-drum systems / Re: New Alesis drum kit

thank you very much jman
excellent infos.
so, from what i understand, with these 8gb, we could have 2 excellent kits in module memory. and then you could on the fly add some more from the sd, but that would take time. not fond of that approach. but it is a step forward. in my mind 2box is still king soundwise. but any competition is good! cheers
ps. i was practising a bit today. closed my eyes, felt like playing an acoustic kit. oh i love my 2box.

jman is on the spot as always.
i would like to ask this. is the module capable of having an sd card? because if there is no expansion slot of some kind, then conversation is over. there wont be the possibillity to add many kits that are of some good quality, like in 2box. for my all the rest are not as significant as the sound.
lets wait and see.
the thing that i suspect (and of course i could be very very wrong) is that roland will soo announce a new edrum to reply to this kit. and if it is also in the right direction, new drum it five couldnt be far behind. i smell a new era of e drums soon

have to be honest, it is the first time i have been tempted by another drum kit, after i bought 2box, which i adore. this looks amazing. it has everything you might need. 3 crashes, big ride cymbal, 2 piece hi hat, big dimensions. but what matters the most is the sound. if the sound is inferior to 2box, then all the rest doesnt mean a thing. now if the sound is great, if the triggering is great, if it is silent then we might have a winner here. but these are too many ifs. sticking to 2box hehe

shouldnt we discuss what we found here, should we perhaps have a secret 2box beta testers forum? i have only good things to say about the beta update. wont say more, ill say that i am happy.

id also like to know that because i created an e kick pad, but the amplitude is very low. even when gain is put to 25 and positive 2 for the curve, i dont get max signal of 127. ill get the biggest piezo (i have the medium size one). should i also look in other material? thank you

btw. i hope everyone is great, i have been long absent but i am way too busy right now. take care guys
