DrumIt 5 Hardware / Mega Hi Hat issue
April 11, 2015, 10:33:16 AM
My hi hat has been acting all odd and then it stopped working completely, I have had a look by taking the rubber off the hat, looked underneath and dismantled the unit and 2 wires have come away, now its not under warranty, is there anywhere in the UK that does 2 Box repairs before I have to end up buying a new one?.

Regards

I am on the beta testing team as well, but I have had a few problems at the moment, but not with the 2 box, its just a case that some priorities in life are a bit more important, so I have had not had a lot of time to spend on testing it, but I will say that the 2 box maybe 5-6 years old there is nothing out there which can touch it, when you sit behind a real acoustic kit, the feel etc is so similar when playing the 2 box kit, the TD-30 is nice however, it does not sound the same, it does not feel REAL, you have the ability to take an expensive snare and add it too your arsenal and make it your sound, you can't do that with anything else, position censoring is nice, however after you have played on a 2 box it you won't really care.

Yes they certainly do, it seemed like one of the samples was late triggering due to the silence before it, what gets me I even sat there and thought "hang on, is my timing that bad!!!!!"....... I even re-ajusted my beater thinking it was something to do with that!.

Many Thanks

I have owned a Yamaha DTXpress kit and sold it because it sounded awful, I then bought a Clavia Ddrum 4SE kit and loved it to bits, then I tried the 2 Box Drum It 5 and it blew me away, so I bought one and sold my Ddrum 4SE kit, if I am perfectly honest the need for a DrumIt6 is not what I would call important, what is important that you have spend £1,700 on a kit which basically does it all, so tell me what other kit does this for the price range?. Look at the Roland TD-30 OK its got nice bells and whistles but I still do not like the sound, but look at the price!!!!. What I am really getting at is this, we do not need a drumit6 yet, at least for another few years because other companies have not caught up with 2 Box, can you load your own multi-samples on a Roland Kit?, can you play your sounds on a Yamaha Kit, you can only use what is there, at least you can customise the DrumIt5 to sound the way you want it to, and use your own samples, and not a processed load of thin sounding crap modelled on how Roland or Yamaha think it should sound, thats why the DrumIt5 has so much potential and will have for quite a few years to come. When Bengt designed this kit he certainly knew what he was doing because look how long the Clavia Ddrum 4 kit stayed on the top spot for.....Years!!!! and nothing came close, he raised the bar with the DrumIt5, nothing will catch up with it at this price range, so there is no need for a Drum It 6 for ages yet. Long live the Orange Kit :-)

Hi folks.

Some of you may remember me from a few years ago, in Dec 31st 2010 I bought a DrumIt5 MKI, after selling my Clavia Ddrum 4SE, but in May 2011 I lost my job and had to sell my 2 Box Kit, well I am happy to say after 14 months using a Roland HD-1 and BFD 2, I recently bought another DrumIt5 Kit MKII and will not let this one go, I think that was the biggest regret I ever had was selling my old DrumIt5..

But after a bike accident on Sunday, and a fractured collar bone, my DrumIt5 kit is still boxed up and I cannot set it up as yet, but knowing what I know about the kit, it is totally brilliant.

How are you guys getting on with your 2 Box Kit?. And anything new that I should know about.

Regards

Hi.
DrumIt Six is not registered yet, so please make one.
Deve.

Why the Drum It 5 has soooo much potential, are n't you people ever happy?.

Something which is miles better than any Roland or Yamaha e-kit, and your still not satisfied.

I give in!!!!!.

Gotta say one thing though, the hi-hats on the Drum It 5 are sooooooo much better than the hi-hats on BFD and BFD 2, if I am honest I think the DI5 hats are the best I have heard or played yet, maybe not everyones cup of tea, I would imagine, but they sit very well in a mix, and they don't sound harsh at all.
