But it does allow you to control the VST, right? I feel like I've watched a ton of videos explain how to control your VST via a single USB cable.
NO, the USB on the 2Box modules will not do anything to trigger or control VSTs as welshsteve stated earlier. You would run MIDI out of the 2Box module and either MIDI into your computer sound card, or use a MIDI to USB adapter to run to your computer/daw.

Thanks, I will check out the 5 presets. Only got the 3 database now.
Kit 45 in the Drumit 3 is "Calefornication" obvious reference to the Chili Peppers. You might try that snare/kit.

This is the type of splitter for splitting the tom inputs. It has been discussed many times, searching the forum since there are 8 or 9 years worth of posts .... is a good idea. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/YPP117--hosa-ypp-117-stereo-breakout-1-4-inch-trs-to-dual-1-4-inch-tsf-6-inch

Hi guys,

I am searching for a Pearl Chad Smith signature snare sound.
Can someone point me in the right direction ?

Thanks
The Chili Peppers kit in the Drumit Five .... I think it is no. 97 or 98 ..... uses the 14 Piccolo snare. In VST software there is a Chad Smith kit in the BFD expansion Jim Scott Rock Drums, but the snare used in that one is the Tama Bell Brass.

This is the Stealth 16" Ozone Chokable Crash. Pictured with the 3 zone style 2Box trigger installed but just let me know if you prefer and I will change the trigger to a 2 zone chokable type which is basically universally compatible, working with 2Box, Roland, Pearl, Alesis, most Yamaha modules, etc.
The price is $190 shipping included in the CONUS. Or let me know where you are located and I will quote shipping. Send me a PM. Thanks for looking, Jman

Is there any documentation with AD that confirms how many sample levels are recorded in there? I don't have SSDE yet, but have experimented exporting samples manually. I'm never sure how many to use. There's no point exporting 128 velocity samples if the original SD samples were based on 32?
I think Lustar has some info on that. But once you have SDSE it has settings in the program to only record the unique samples, so you will not get a bunch of repeats, just what is unique in the instrument. So, that is basically handled for you with the setting.

Hey chaps,
Just seen some videos of a new drumit5 module. Looks like it's got a card reader this time! No doubt it's got the new universal triggering, anyone know of any other changes?
That's pretty much it. And it will ship with the 32GB ATP card. No USB connection. You will use the SDHC card in a card reader on the computer like those of us are already doing who have done the external slot with larger card.

As Welshsteve mentioned there is a Gain Reduction setting in the D3 module, great feature. I wish that was available in the latest OS for the D5. Anyway, it is called GainR .... when set to on it decreases the Gain and will give you more headroom in the Gain settings. That is under the Unit settings.

Sounds like an imaginary problem to me. I have found the Head and Rim on any pad I used triggered great, separation is better on the D3 than previous OS 1.30 for sure. And no problem splitting head and rim with splitters as far as I know. That is the first thing I do. I have all 4 tom inputs split and working just fine on the D3???? The only thing I have seen recently is one user saying they were getting a bit of problem on a Yamaha 3 zone where the Bell sound would sometimes trigger from the Edge .... I haven't tested any 3 zone Yamaha cymbals though personally.

I had a pair of 5a Carbostick (totally carbon fibre) while in residency in Abu Dhabi between 2004 and 2007. I was playing on an Ddrum4 complete kit. They cost about £15 I don't think I broke a single one! Well, until I started playing back on acoustic drums, then they broke! Hihats and rimshots on bare rims eventually got them. That was some value. Looks like they're not made anymore otherwise I''d still be using them.

They are even compatible with Drumit5  8)
To a point, major differences are the way the cymbals and Hi Hat are handled. The Hi Hat will only work with my Stealth 2Box HH Stand Conversion Kit or Zourman's box. Crashes are simple enough when set to PS or CyEdg type they will trigger Bow/Edge/Choke just like on the Roland module. But 3 zone Ride you would use the Bow/Bell input of the cymbal and set it to CyCup if you have a 2 jack Roland type Ride and you will get Bow/Bell ... no edge or choke.

Newbie here - I just heard about 2box 3 and 5 over the weekend. I spent hours on YouTube checking out these amazing products. I’m playing a set of Roland mesh heads with the expanded TD9 module.
Are they compatible with the Drumit 3?   Thank you.
Yes.

Unfortunately, no amount of 'turning them up' makes them loud enough. It is chalk and cheese. Look at the last photo I posted. When I dropped that Ride into the first cymbal slot, I had to turn it down.

But now I am going to tell you something that will hurt your brain. ;)

I tried the editor on my PC. I put the card reader in and setup the software.. And . . .

All the sound work fine!!!!

Now I am confused. ALL the china cymbals work. The crashes I listed below work fine on my PC..

Just not on my LAPTOP!!..  I want them on my laptop as I travel over an hour each way to work every day.. What better way to spend the time than to work on kits and sounds.

I restarted the laptop and the problem persists.

What the???

Yeah, so I am just pointing out, all of the sounds you mention have been in use for years with other 2Box modules. So whatever the problem it is on your end... not the sound files.

As far as the Monitor levels. Those are all .dsnds from 2Box and that is their levels. If you want them louder you can just turn them up on the Monitor volume level. Many of the sounds are from the free downloads from 2Box, eNerd, and others are from the Drumit Five module content. In other words all the available sounds that are not already on the Drumit Three module. I did not adjust any levels those are all original.
