Quote from: edcito on January 31, 2024, 02:20:40 PMThis works with any 2Box module and any edrumin connected to the 2box via midi in, you need to connect your center trigger snare to the edrumin and set the positional sensing to note instead of cc data, then you take your edge samples and assign the edge sound to an unused articulation or midi note of the 2box.
Via midi in from any device you can trigger any sound you like as long as it sends/receives the same midi note. I haven't counted the amount of midi notes but that's the amount of sounds you can trigger via midi in.
You don't need a DAW  to do this, just a 2box module and an edrumin
So in short:

Export the snare edge samples in SDSE using the extra articulations set to "all" in the Zones tab.

Connect your center cone pad to the Edrumin, calibrate it and then connect its MIDI out to 2Box MIDI in using a midi cable.

Look for a midi note that you're not using like a tom's rim and set this note in the edrumin pos sense setting

Assign the edge sound to this midi note in the 2box

Enjoy

Edcito, I'm currently looking for edrumin interface and can't decide between edrumin8 and 10 model. I would like to provide enough trigger ports for a standard DrumitFive set with possibility to expand later, so edrumin4 without USB Host port wouldn't suit me. On the other hand, the only extras for edrumin10 over 8 are 2 extra trigger inputs, 1 extra pedal input and midi in port. What model have you bought, btw?

Do I understand it right, that for kick you can use any of those standard trigger inputs and don't need extra pedal input? Do you know if pedal input can be used to connect some 3rd party hihat to 2box module?

In what edrumin setup would midi-in port be necessary?

Sorry for so many questions, perhaps they are already answered in some forum, but I couldn't find answers in product's FAQ page.  :drum2:

Thanks a lot, edcito, you're a hero!  :D

I will watch also your videos.

Sounds too good to be true  :D  Does it work for module in midi mode (in DAW) or also as in standalone mode? It would be quite a revolution and a new life for otherwise long stagnant waters  ;D

Can you share some more details: which 2box module do you use, how did you interconnected Roland pad and eDRUMin to 2BOX, what settings did you use in 2box module, etc. Didn't quite get about articulation assigning to tom rim - what is it necessary for.

Thanks for innovation and sharing good ideas  :)

Greetings from Latvia! I (or more precisely - my 2box module) recently started to experience such dropouts - sometimes it's crash which stutters, sometimes snare rolls get dropped out. The SD card was first of my suspected problem. I've tried 3 different 32 GB cards and two of them were more or less stable until recently. What I could think of is some kind of degradation that affects SD cards after certain usage. So thanks to Karbonfaiba I could test them with SSD-Z tool. The problem is I forgot how to interpret access time tests  ;D Could you guys help me and comment if any of them are still usable according requirements or should I replace with new one. Are now 64 GB thought to be usable by 1st gen. DI5 or 32 GB is limit?  The cards are 1) Kingston 32 GB, 2) SanDisk 32 GB Class 4 and 3) Transcend 32 GB [pictures follow]:
Kingston 32 GB
SanDisk 32 GB Class4
Transcend 32 GB

The Di5 MK2 content is on the 2Box site now. Can anyone confirm if the new content is usable in the Di3 with the card mod?

Thanks,
Mike

I have downloaded DI5 MKII content on DI5 MKI module and everything works flawlessly. Should be also compatible with DI3.
I'm impressed with new kits and once more happy with my choice going for 2box set. 2box is like Apple supporting like 10 year old hardware with newest SW.

It is always A1392 which is used...In the hihats.

How so? We also thought about trying out one which is more sensitive, I think it was A1391. Are there any other considerations in play for hihats apart from sensitivity?

2box modules measures the pedal on the circuits current in mA...so the power in voltage is always the same when trying to measure. :-)

Yes, my fault. I didn't delve in the topic, indeed that was the current not voltage. I provided my friend with all schematics and other information from forum. He even found one element was different in schematics (early controller version?). Anyways, when he tested with magnet, the measurements were within limits why he thought the chip is OK (but the hihat wouldn't calibrate) until the new one was soldered in its place.

I had exactly the same thing on my hihat recently. The faulty element was hall sensor on controller board. I ordered on ebay, but shipping from UK took more than month so that my friend who is electronics expert ordered another one and received it after 5 days. Make sure its A1392 (there are A1391, A1393, and A139 with different sensitivity)
Mine was from
ALLEGRO-MICROSYSTEMS
Product code: A1392
IC Hall Effect Sensor, linear, supply 2.5 â€" 3.5 V, rest voltage 50% Vcc, sensitivity 2.5 mV/g, output band 10 kHz

Interesting thing, the voltage measurements on faulty one were within limits, therefore we initially suspected other elements (e.g. magnet itself), but after resoldering all problems were gone.

I noticed that there is no USB port on the back of the module anymore. Probably this is due to card reader on extender and higher capacity 32GB card. Or is this only for this prototype and will be back for real module later on?

I have been using the ATP 64GB (same manufacturer as the original 4GB)

Best regards

Is it this: ATP 64GB MLC SDXC Card Industrial ?

I just would like to add that with the right 64GB card...both the Drumits work great!

Could you name any specific 64GB card?  ::)

To a point, major differences are the way the cymbals and Hi Hat are handled. The Hi Hat will only work with my Stealth 2Box HH Stand Conversion Kit or Zourman's box. Crashes are simple enough when set to PS or CyEdg type they will trigger Bow/Edge/Choke just like on the Roland module. But 3 zone Ride you would use the Bow/Bell input of the cymbal and set it to CyCup if you have a 2 jack Roland type Ride and you will get Bow/Bell ... no edge or choke.
Agreee. My point was about PDX pads not cymbals (and of course, not hi-hat), which I actually don't use except maybe as a splash sometimes :) For Yamaha experience is quite opposite: their cymbals are much better (OK, no 3 zones, but choke works) but their silicon pads are less sensitive and need adjustments.

Newbie here - I just heard about 2box 3 and 5 over the weekend. I spent hours on YouTube checking out these amazing products. I’m playing a set of Roland mesh heads with the expanded TD9 module.
Are they compatible with the Drumit 3?   Thank you.
They are even compatible with Drumit5  8)

according to the manual, the globalconfig.dcfg file is an "Index file, which is required for Mac operating systems" so I don't see how it's related to other settings...

I see that in manual, but as I wrote, the was just my experience. I tried thrice: once with new globalconfig version then with previous (noted all my settings), then back with new. First time all settings (triggers, volumes, outputs, etc.) changed to default plus drumkit list changed to DrumitThree. With old globalconfig file the settings changed back to my customized and drumkits  - to original Drumit Five 100 kits + my single kits.
