Hi!

I really wonder in which situation the hi-hat (Allegro 1391) circuit pops. I was talking to somebody who claimed it was during boot up/shutdown of the 2Box module and especially on stage where you could have a lot of earth signals or magnetism environment etc (not 100% confirmed) The Allegro should be to handle about 3KV ESD power hits etc...so it sounds strange why it is popping...

Coda, In what situation did your hi-hat finally shut down? Any ideas here?

Reason for asking is more of a general interest...in my 42Box am using other circuits (not any allegro magnet solutions) I have not been able to make it to pop so far...during 8 months of tests...in real tough environment on stage but you can never be too sure.

Hi StudioG4!

As the writer of the article in dD, I can just confirm that things seems to move towards the right direction...there will soon be some new library's available at the right cost! And the library's are top notch...not any useless samples or strange exhibition demo kits! Real drums without included effects which will blow us all away! (I have heard some samples...)

But I will let the guys behind these library's launch this themselves when they are ready!

Jman...I am trying to count...you had two 2boxes...and added a third. (Plus the upcoming one...) This will be four units all together. :-) Dedication!

Hi!

Amazing that you did not get any answer on this question!

There are some nice librarys!

One is Endre e-nerds librarys!
http://www.endre-enerd.com/index.php/tech-info/sounds

There are actually some nice kits on the 2Box site also:
http://2box.se/World/pages/sample-library/
Checkout the Streaplers Samples...they are ok! There are more nice kits and pieces here also! Big Jambo Kicks are great!

Hi All!
Thanks for all interest in the 42Box Hi-hat conversion. (2Box users, e-drummers and dealers/retailers)

The 42Box site is up and running and the shipping costs and tax stuff have been updated to the customers favour! :-)

There is also an updated manual available with tricks and tips how to make your Roland Hi-hat, 42Box module and your 2Box Drumit Five module to run as smooth as possible!

Coda, I might have tested the review function...and forgot to take away the post...:-)

I think however as a drummer the product earns five stars...:-)

Hi!

Thanks for the feedback!

The 42Box is another solution for a well known problem - the Hi-hat. JMan has a great solution, if you want to hang on the hall effect technology. Mine is more for customers with existing Roland gears.

I don't know regarding the form factor - you have probably seen the freight dimensions. The 42box is about 10 cm x 5 cm x 4 cm in size... think about guitar effect pedal in size.

Plugs on the same side - let me see what we can do...(Could actually be that this is the case already)

Price - You get great value!! I promise!

Faster..could be hard to prove... but I would argue that it is more exact and have a better drum-feeling compare to the 2Box standard hi-hat.

What do you think about this new hi-hat tool for 2Box and Roland FD-8 and VH-11?

Hi!

Thanks. Agree about faster than...is maybe too poor description and the access time field shows the same thing. (Actual, referens card access time) However - a slower card than the original card could work - like in my case the Sandisk Extreme 16 GB. It took me 3 months before the card really started show major problems. So using a "better or worse" keyword is maybe a better definition. I don't know if measured cards very near the reference card in access time are valid and approved.

Regarding wikipage or not...a good idea...but it is not so good if the user needs to leave the unofficial 2Box site...to get this information.

Hmm...

I think we are talking about the same thing. I had something like this in mind: (To create a better overview and save forum members to browse through 16 pages of threads)

Hi!

I have been running the HD Tune PRO app on all my Old SD Cards...the reason for doing this was that I thought I had found a good card...and was using for month. It was a SanDisk Extreme 30 MB/s. But after been playing and adding content for months (at last two big SDSE converted Dummica kits)...it finally started to add latency...and audio cracks.

Then I just scanned through all of SDs...(I had about 15 cards)...and found that the SanDisk was quite slow in access time compared to original card.)

Instead I found a real old Transcend SDHC with 32GB class 10...which was the fastest and compared to the original card a bit faster.

I was planning to post all my cards on this forum...but I it just feel stupid because of the way HD Tune measures the cards. The access time depends very much on the computer and card reader attached...

The only thing HD Tune is good on is to determine if a measured card is faster or slower compared the original card. The exact data and access time is just a values...and which makes it very hard compare with others that also have been using the hd tune app.

So instead of posting screenshots of hd tune ...we should post cards in table (with a picture)which actually works and are faster than the original one.

What do you think?

Hi!

I thought my Shure Se-215 was terrible before I read the manual..and found out that I had been using the ear-ins on the wrong side of the supposed ear. Then I took some time to really figure and test the right ear buds included in the package. Now I think the se-215 is just perfect...I have also added a pearl throne thumber...which makes you to feel the kick!  Perfect combination!

Best regards

Allan is right about this scenario for the BT-1. It requires some very opposit settings to get it working. The idea with BT-1 is to use one piezo and one switch. If you really hit on the bt-1 the switch triggers. If a drum which is hosting the BT-1, is hit...the BT-1 will suppresses that info using the built in piezo and preventing xtalk.

The idea is by combining these two sensors you can almost eliminate xtalk...which is great. However on the 2box...this kind of algorithm is not available to my knowledge. I have three BT-1's and on the MegaDrum trigger device there is a way to use bt-1 with the same kind of functionality as found in Roland Modules. But as said...not available on 2Box.
