You can of course take your 32GB card and read/modify it directly in your PC/MACs SD slot. (Running the editor)

The 4GB limit remains with the USB 1.1 implementation in 2box and the possibility to address more than 4GB over USB midi. The card or even the 2Box unit can handle up 32 GB.

I have never actually set the key map in the VST when exporting. (E.g...just run the default in your VST )

If you think about it...for SDSE to be able to get the right samples from your VST...it has nothing to do with 2box key map in this stage.

It is not until the final stage when SDSE is saving the complete drum 2box drum set (dkit), when the key map is set for 2box. (And SDSE already know the map)

This DPI Scaling Stuff seems to work great! (On newer Microsoft Surface Pro 4 systems with extremely high resolutions) Had always problems before...now it is gone!!

Great work Denis!!

 HI!

Just wanted to add two hints when discovering latency on 2box.

1. Don't play with your system set to the unit mode. Always be in the kit mode. Shows in OS1.3.
2. Check the trigger settings. A cymbal with piezo/switch which have got wrong settings like piezo/piezo using a Pad12 etc...occasionally just stops for 1-3 seconds. On my unit...

The extender cables can be cut...however you needs some skills and experince to do it. I do believe a half meter cable will actually do bad to the data transfer of the SD card.

Just to confuse you all with the selection of SD cards...my best 32 GB card is a SanDisk SDHC card with a class 4 spec....

Hi!

I would place all the files in a own directory in the root \eNerd\....to be able to keep track of them.

This kit will then show up after the 100 fixed kits automatically. (Without that you have to do anything)

The problem you are probably facing is that your SD card in the 2Box is full...4GB is almost what 2box is shipping default of sounds. So I am guessing that you need to delete/move some unused sounds/kits from your 2box module to be able to add new sounds.

Make a copy/backup of your 2box memory to your Mac....before you start to change things. Don't touch any of the system files in the root.

I was just wondering for how long time it would take before anybody realized the drum force link. Got posted last spring...or something. The Gold kit is not bad at all and recorded in a environment that is just top notch!

Hi!

I let the forum speak if they like the Zourman Drums HH module or not. :-) However after many sold boxes (way beyond my wildest guess) and almost zero support, it seems like the customers like the solution.

There are currently two models available, one for FD-X/VH-11 and one for VH-12.

The function is the same between the models but these hi hats have completly different resistor ranges on the pedal. That is why we had to create two models and to really nail the right hi-hat feeling. VH-12 do also adds support for extra tight hi-hat pressure...but this is not supported by the sounds stored in 2box default. But if you have a adjusted HH sound with an extra tight layer of a closed hi-hat sound - the extra tight function would actually work. (The great mr Jman has a complete guide how to do this) I have to confess that I am not a too big fan the mechanically "clopping" sound coming from VH-12...but with a nice volume in your earphones...no problem!

You can buy it directly from the Zourman.com, Jobeky in the UK, Drum-tec in Germany and Electronic Drum Center in US.

I needed to protect my 2box module in a better way when on the road…so just for fun I bought a small red case at Bauhaus and then used a foam cutter to make room for the 2box module and also a Zourman hi-hat conversion module for Roland VH-11. I think the result got quite nice. I will add space for the PSU and the 2box holder also)

Hi!

Do you get these splash triggering if the hi-hat is unconnected and no hi-hat input is connected to the module?

If it triggers without the hi-hat attached...I would suspect the module.

If it randomly triggers with the 2box hi-hat attached...you could suspect the hi-hat electronics...like the Hall effect sensor/circuit gone bad. Have happened before....seems to be a weak part in the construction.

The hi-hat input can only be used for the hi-hat...it is not possible to run it on any other input channel.
This channel feeds power for the hihat electronics in the 2box hi-hat.

I am not completly sure and understand what you experince for kind of problems above...does the hi-hat trigger randomly?

Normally, if connect and disconnecting the hi-hat cable it will trigger a hi-hat sound.

A question of curiosity...is your 2box module mechanically connected to your hi-hat stand? (E.g...have you mounted the module on the HH stand)

Hi!

To my knowledge there is no manufacturer of e hi-hats who has a working solution for 2box.

The cheapest way to do is maybe to use the components from a existing 2box hi-hat like the pcb, hall sensor from a 2box Hihat. You could then create a similar solution to the Jman offered solution.

If you don't want to spent a lot of time...the Jman or Zourman solution is the best.
In the 42box/Zourman solution we have skipped the Hall effect sensor completely and is using the resistor part on a Roland pedal and convert it to 2box pedal language.

Some of my users have taken the relative cheap FD-8 together with a cy-5 and my box and through this got a bit more cost effective solution.

But a used VH-11 or VH-12  + the ZD box will make the hi-hat feeling optimal. :-)

That's ok Chris.

Yes, I am guessing the Mimic will be a game changer, if it works ok and don't end up with any bigger traps or faults.

But really...my old gear with a MegaDrum 56 channel, 8 channel sound card and a Surface PRO 3 with 12" touch display mounted on the rack with W10 running AD2. :-)...is very near the Mimic in concept. :-)

Yes, it is going to be interesting to see what's happening. The Mimic has a good high price also!

Hi All!

A drummer friend Christian asked if he could borrow and use my setup on a gig...hard to say no...I also became sound and light engineer on this gig.

Christian had never tried any e-kit before but the venue was quite small and limited time for sound check etc. He did rehearsal with this kit one time.

As we had some time to prepair the kit in advance the following process occurred:

What we did before the gig:
I invited my drummer friend to pick his kit in AD2 using my notebook and select drums from all ADpaks. When he was ready...the whole kit was transferred to 2box module using SDSE. It takes about 30 minutes on a i7 based system. If You are a AD2 user..you could look on his kit on this link: https://www.xlnaudio.com/cloud/preset/728f0e91d0d4bbd80757ef634e9c4abc

Result: https://youtu.be/-wplKWmXKUU

(6 audio channels recorded from 2box, a small Sonor Safari kit with Remo Silent Stroke, Roland RT-10S triggers, Roland CY-cymbals, VH-11 and Zourman Hihat conversion module for 2box.

My friend got very impressed and are thinking of getting his own system...

Christians defined kit in AD2:
Kick: 26x14" Ludwig Blue Oyster
Snare: 14x6,5" Sonor Phonic
Hihat: 15" Zildjian New Beat
Tom 1: 12x8" Ludwig Classic Maple
Tom 2: 13x9" Ludwig Classic Maple
Tom 3: 16x16" Ludwig Classic Maple
Tom 4: 18x16" Ludwig Classic Maple
CYM 1: Crash 17", Zildjian Hybrid
CYM 2: Crash 18", Zildjian K Custom Dark
CYM 3: Crash 20", Zildjian K Crash Ride
CYM 4: China 20", Zildjian Low
Ride 1: 24", Zildjian A Medium
Flexi 1: Cowb-LP Rock

Chris K...how can you be so sure about this? E.g 2box will never launch anything new...

Your own assumptions or true facts?

Regardless of the facts...the current 2box module won't let you down. If you still are not convinced...why not try to buy a used module and save some dollars + a new Jobeky Kit and if something new enters the market...go for that module.
