Hi!
I don't believe that the Drumit Five will drop to zero.
It has still more inputs & outputs, the same brain as three etc!

So a memory modified "five" (to 32GB), maybe an added hh conversion kit for Roland and you have a very similar or even better system than the three!

So unless there will be a 5+ or 6 version of 2box replacing the current Five...I think the price will remain on the current level.

Hi!

To create a sample for 2box and make it optimal...some steps are required...which takes a lot of time!

I am doing a Zourman project with a couple of samples. Even if you have an optimal recording...like in my case...(a studio with equipment worth $500K, 25 microphone positions, a rare and expensive drum to sample).... the required post steps to "pack it" to DSDN format are very time consuming.

I was recently talking to Endre ENerd who have made a couple of kits for 2box...where he hit the drum 1200 times per drum, remixed it with a dry or wet approach, controlled the overall level, then chop each sample into a separate wave file...checking the peak/rms of each hit and make a index of all the files before packaging them in tools like Drumit Editor/DsoundTool to create the DSDN file format. You need both time, skills and tools to make it happen. Endre did develop a couple of tools to streamline his process.

I know also from my interview in digitalDrummer with the guy behind the 2box sounds that they were  using a nice internal tool to speed up the process and the possibility to choose from 5 different mic positions in a late stage of the process when creating the DSDN file.

Thanks!

Yes, I forced my dad to make a nice job. :-) But taking up a hole in this plate is not too hard. The plate is about 1 mm. You could just drill a bunch of holes between each other and do the rest with a small rasp.

We also shortened the sdsc ribbon cable to fit better in side box ... to ensure the speed of data transfer. I have no proof if this would be any issue.

Hi! I would expect the 32 mod to work also on the three. (Ok...I have not seen how it looks like inside if the SDSC card have been replaced by memory chips...but I really doubt that this has been changed)

I applied a nice "mod" on my + a couple of friends 2box devices...:

Check the sd card in a computer...sometimes they actually fails. (Happened once for me)

If you have taken the box apart...it is easy to just insert the sd card without the extender cable.

If it is working...then you know it is the extender cable.

Hi!

I don't have the feeling that the reso head adds a lot of noise.
I was once tempted to use the 682Drums special heads for bottom drums... but I did not. :-)

Over the time I also mounted DMX controlled LED stripes inside the drum and placed the connector in the same way.

Hi!

I once felt sorry for drilling in the drums (a pair of new Sonors) to fit a 1/4 trs female teleplugg.

I ended up with my own solution...which have worked fantastic for several years.

Sorry to hear about your problems!

This is not the right behavior - something is very wrong here!

It could be the hi-pedal or even the ZD box which creates the problem.

But, mail me on info@zourman.com so we can investigate it further.

(I would like to check your serial number to see if you have the right box)

Hi Robc.

What kind of problems have you been experiencing? (The solution have been reported to work well by other users of Jobeky and the Zourman box.)

The Jobeky hh uses a Go edrum pedal solution...which emulates a VH-11 hi-hat.

The AC/DC adapter is also an EU requirement.

It is an interesting question regarding if the Three had a USB 1 or USB 2 implementation...
The three box I tested had definitely USB 1...but I think the ambition was to get rid of the 4GB memory limitation when addressed over USB, (a limit based on the USB 1.)

Hope they fixed this!

Hi!
The mask parameter is on my drums set to 1 for the example on the snare above and 4 for a 18" kick drum with a RT-10K sensor.

Hi!

I don't know if this is any help or not, but I am running my RT-10S(previous version of the RT-30) on all drums with Remo Silent Stroke.

I am using the following settings for a 14" snare and RT-10S:

Type: PAD12
xtalk: Med
Gain: 14
Thres: -36
Curve: Norm

Yes, that's strange.

I think I mentioned in my article about Big Jambo Studios in digitalDrummer, which made the main part of the original sounds...that they used a special tool when creating the sounds for 2box.
Could this maybe be the difference?

Hi!

I must say that I don't recognise this change in sound when moving from AD2 to 2box using SDSE.
(But I am not using the headphones output at all)

However, I am currently doing a small project with a nice snare...where I have both the original and the moved results. Could be fairly easy to compare the results with each other.
