Hi!

I think I wrote three sound snare. :-) The Snare on the Three can handle head, rim and now also crossticks. I have not tried the implementation but you will get a third way to trigger a sound.

This is something implemented in the threes hardware...that’s why the Five can’t be supported on this function.

I am guessing the new sounds from the three’s major sound packages like the Phillips and Black will be released for Drumit Five users. There will definitely be a new os released for the five with some nice improvements. The more hard part is the 3 sound snare sounds found in the three...they will not work on the five unless they are repackaged,

For existing five uses who wants to go the Roland route....there are solutions available to handle both the hi-hat and the 3 zone rides. :-)

So I am guessing we have good support for a system which have been on the market for the last 8 years! (But yes...they are slow on the web)

I have tested it with CY-12C/R but I was not too happy with the result. It works but it not Zourman class of implementation. It will require its own settings and electronics.

However - I am very happy to read about the good results of ATVs 18” Ride! Fun!

Hi!

There are several solutions if you want to go the VH-11 path. I am representing Zourman Drums and have a couple of hi-hat conversion modules.

I think my implementation for FD-8/CY5 + VH-11 with 2box actually do create a better trigger feeling when playing on the bow/edge (I think is a bit hot on the original)...and also with the pedal. It is easy to control the half or semiclosed or even less positions than that ...playing with a VH-11. The resistor based pedal makes it more accurate compared to the hall effect sensor found on 2box)

I have problems to play when I switch back to my old 2box hi-hat...which feels very binary....and unsensible...but my hi-hat is very old..(my serial no on my unit is 211....) So I know that 2box have said that they have improved the hi-hat since these days.

But it is very much about personal perceptions ... VH-11 + my box...there are some investments to be done here. (But there are more cost effective solutions like GO Edrums hi-hats which emulates VH-11 on the market) But the VH-11 is a nice hi-hat trigger...try to find a used one!

Hi!

I was checking your found cymbal sounds - In the sound libraries there is information about who has created them. It is actually a guy from Sweden (Same nationality as me) named Erkan Dogantimur who created these free samples in 14 September 2008. He used to have a site www.erdo.se but it seems to have gone by now. The samples have like 5-10 layers of each hit...like edge, bow and cup so in most cases they will feel a bit limited to what you are used to found in the 2box factory sounds. (They have normally 40-90 layers of each sound)

Erikans License agreement:
These samples are free, for any use, including commercial use in music projects. The samples may however NOT be re-sold or re-distributed to anyone. Point your friends over to my webpage (www.erdo.se) for download. It is also strictly forbidden to use these samples as a part of a commercial product, for example a drumkit software using these samples as a "bonus" to market their product. These samples are 100% Free and nobody is allowed to make a single cent from these except for artists who are using these samples in their music.

So we can't just create some DSND of these files and post it back on the web.(Sorry - this will violate Erkans will)

However - You can easily create your own .dsnd packs for 2box using the DrumIt Five Editor from 2box. Can be downloaded at http://2box.se/World/pages/editor/

I made my own 21" Ride in about 5 minutes….no...it took 2 minutes….

Hi!

I can just confirm that the 2box cymbal 14" seems in general to be a bit hot...so even if using the default settings for CYM14 Gain=0 and M...it is quite easily to generate a bell hit with a hard hit. So it is a good idea to cool it off slightly by using a 39K resistor. (You can install it in series on the tip signal on one of the tele connectors.)

The velocity difference between a bell hit and bow hit is supposed to be 12dB.

As you see in my video https://youtu.be/5cBdUjTaR2s when hitting the CYM14...I also get bell sounds if hitting harder. (But my solution for Roland CY-13R and CY-15R  & 2box has this feature built in + among some other nice tweaks)

Hi best friends!

About 2 months ago I got a my hands on an old ddrum 4 SE module. (Got it from a friend!)

As a spinoff when I got the ddrum 4SE module and also from a couple of requests from customers asking - Can't you develop a hi-hat conversion for Roland hi-hats and the ddrum 4se?

So well...I thought, no problem I can do this and I started the project - however - it was not so easy as I thought and it took me like 100 hours to complete. I am not 100% ready yet but I think it is working ok already - some fine tuning which still remains.

Absolutely...this conversion is an option for the current 6000 users of the 2box Drumit Five.

Hi!

Could be a bit complex to really import the 2box sounds into SD...but actually possible if using SD3 and if you use one shot samples. (A bit limited to what you are used to if listening to the native SD3 sounds...or even 2box sounds.)

You can use the dsoundtool to export the preferred dsdn file into multiple wave files...then you can the import one of them into SD3. Pick the strongest wave file...

Hi all!

What do you think about this?

https://youtu.be/5cBdUjTaR2s

I did finally finish a conversion module for using Roland CY-13R and CY-15R rides together with the 2box DrumIt Five module.

Have a nice weekend!

I can just agree with mr Jman!

Nice improvements!

Hi!

These bolts are M6 size format. Don’t buy too long bolts...so you damage the PCB inside the module. 0,5 - 1cm maximum.
