Great answers to this everyone.. Good to know that taking the card out and mounting it on PC is the best way.

I have Lustark's Drumit Manger. Not sure i could live without it.. If you don't have it, get it. It is awesome.

Totally agree on that one! DrumIt Manager which includes both the dkit manager and dsound manager is a must have for a 2box user!

True... but it was 10 years ago, and still no other module has that convenience: plug in your module and drag-n-drop your sound files. Of course today it should be usb 2.0 (480 Mbps).

Also, there is no 4 GB limit on USB 1.1 (as sometimes stated), it was just the internal implementation, as the card was built in anyway.

Hi Deve - you are always right! :-)

That is not the case with the new version Drumit5 MK2, Correct?

If you look carefully on your MKII - the USB connector is gone...so the only way to get the files on to your module is to take out the SD card.

With the https://www.lustark.com/drumit-manager from Lustark installed on your PC, you get a great overview of all kitbanks/sounds and if things are workings correctly, before saving it back to the SD card.

Hi!

I also tried to source some approved 64 Gb cards from 2box when dealing with the 32 GB cards above - but not even 2box had an approved card. This might be a challenge to get a card which handles FAT32 (instead of the normally used EXFAT for these kind of sizes), is reliable enough to be used in 2box and to the right cost.

There are some great discussions on Vdrums.com why different don’t work...and some do on 2box.

No, this have not changed. You can’t use the usb port when dealing with SD cards above 4 GB, However it is not much to long for anyway. The USB implementation on all Drumits is version 1...and extremely slow...moving sound-files of 100-200 Mb takes forever, to use it you needed to boot up the module in a special USB mode and the USB port didn’t handle midi at all...

So having a card mod is probably the best solution.

DrumIt 3 and DrumIt 5 Software - PC / Mac / The new DSound Manager is great from Lustark!

You can find the Dsound Manager as a part of the DKIT Manager from Lustark.com

One of the functions found in Dsound Manager is the ability to set the volume per zone on existing dsnd files! A fantastic function!

How do your settings look like on your Three module? Are You using a trs cable (stereo with tip, ring and sleeve connector) between the hihat pad and the 2box unit?

Aha,

Sorry I did not read the original post too carefully- it is the 3CS model you are interested in...I only saw the “side mounted trigger” text...not the “3”.

I think the question is if the 3SC model works on MK2...can only be answered by GearDrum...But I am guessing the ISM-6 works fine on all 2box modules...and if the 3CS have a similar construction and is connected in a similar way as the ISM-6...then it should work fine.

Looks cool on their site - http://www.geardrum.it - no, i have not tried them...they claim that they support 2box...but how hard can that be? :-)

The side mounted is called Gear Drum SMD. Luke at eDrum Workshop has done a review of the more advanced 3CS model.

It is a great new version! I really like the preview keys and I made some tests with the dsound manager with the velocity switch. I think I could do some new real astonishing things with this function! Also the function with being able to change volume between zones is extremely useful!

In general - if you have not tried the DrumIt Manager - I can highly recommend it - I used it a lot when building kits for 2box MKII...and you get extremely effective and fast with this tool! Only the report part in the app...is worth the money!

You are not better than your tools!

Hi all!

I ended up with a great solution on selecting the right SD card for 2box(I think...) - I bought a batch 32GBs from 2box - the same card as used in MKII. (2box delivered and approved card)
 
I am selling it together with the SD extension cable - so drop by my site - and have a look! (And you get some great links to nice content and knowledge to fill your card with!)
