Aha.

Some improvements. Halftime, What kind of triggers do you use? (I can’t see any of this info in the thread - Just as reference for this post).

I think I can recall an issue from the past - have maybe nothing to do with this issue but I would like to mention it any way...I was once using a Cymbal without any edge trigger...but the settings in 2box was set to a Piezo/Switch implementation ...and the result was just some fantastic latency...and glitches...

A future forgiving 2box...or a new OS? We just need to nail the problem! :-)

Great to see new activity on this matter. I don’t think it is unsolvable...the system works great in many scenarios- but these Toontrack exports seems to create something special. As said a good look on the Hihat sounds and Ride is a good start to try finding the error.

Something that have not been tested is to go back to OS 1.22...on the original Drumit Five and try these SDSE exported sounds to see if any lag/latency is produced.

Ah well, still no silver bullet for me with the Kingston Canvas Go Plus 64 GB A2. Latency persists with the SD2 export kit.

I think we have discussed this before somewhere...the SD2 issue and the experienced latency or that particular sounds seems to eat up all system resources are related to something else than the memory card.

Here's what you can try to solve latency: (if you have not seen it previously)
- try changing the Decay from "infinite" to 10 for all pieces in your kit, it was found to help a lot.
- try setting "Max tune up" to 4 in SDSE Options > Convert to get smaller dsnd files.

No,

I am out of ideas here what could make this happen. You could try to generate just one layer or just one stroke type. )not all three now, edge and bell at once from affected wave files and see if this improves. Never seen it...but I am using a PC and is also using the 2box editor very rarely.

Note:
DSoundTool has been tested on Windows 7 and Windows XP. However, it should work on most operating systems (Windows, Linux, MAC) as long as Java 1.6 has been installed. At least 256 MB RAM is required.

Hmm...And the wave files which creates the problems with zero bytes dsnd ...are good before they are dragged into the DrumIt Editor? Sounds strange...is the wave files in the right format? 16/24bits 44,1 KHz

There are some alternatives if using PC to create dsnd files. First Dsound toolkit http://www.shortestpath.se/dsoundtool/ and secondly my favorite the dkit manager from Lustark where you have the internal tool..Dsound Manager... www.Lustark.com

Just a question - How do your process look like when creating these samples? Which editor do you use etc?

The default settings from 2box on the Speedlight 3 zone Ride is the following:
  • Type: CyPSS
  • GAIN: 5
  • BELLGAIN: High
  • Thres: -36
  • Curve: Pos1
  • Xtalk: Mid
  • Mask: Off

This is valid for 2box DrumIt Three and Five MKII. (Not for the original DrumIt Five which needs a conversion module to get this cymbal to work)

Mr Lustark!

The new version seems to work great. As usual! Tested DKIT Manager and DSound Manager...and they perform just as supposed to! :-)

Keep up the great job!

Hi!

The internal sound engine can only handle the amount of trigger inputs. Example...You have 1 zone kick, 3 zone snare, 2 zone hihat, 3x 3 zone cymbals, 4x 2 zone toms...all together...23 simultaneously sounds. (But with some limitations on cymbals, toms and snare which are tied to the actual dsnd file)

So the sound engine can not handle any extra sounds over midi. Only the assigned sounds can be addressed over midi. So an extra tom pad triggered via midi...can only use internal tom sound 1-4...

Karbonfaiba...Some nice research here!

And you are totally right here also regarding the cards and classes.

Nice work!

Hi! Even if going over midi the hi-hat on 2box still needs to be calibrated...because the midi adjusts the internal hihat engine. I also have to check about the last midi note on the hihat - if it was addressable over midi...there were something special here...

Hi!

I would check UNIT – SPEC page and see if the GAINR parameter is set to on. (Set it to off)

“GAINR” (gain reduction) allows you to decrease the selected channel’s sensitivity. This function may come in handy for pads that deliver a powerful signal. Together with the “GAIN” parameter on the “UNIT-TRIG” page, this allows you to specify the optimum input sensitivity.

Please bear in mind that this function is only available for the hi-hat and cymbal 1~3 channels.

Hi!

Check the KFNC page (page down when in the settings mode) and that the hhpos is set to off.

The speedlight kit with either the Three or MKII module is maybe a good choice...if you want to buy it from a retailer with financing. The original Five starts be hard to find and buy new with it orange pads...

The MKII module have some small advantages like bigger memory and a sd card slot...so if you want to add own sounds more easily - the MKII is a good choice.

My 64 gb card is a sandisk extreme 120mb/s...and have been working fantastic.

It looks like these bigger cards are more forgiving in terms of latency etc to what we have been used to in the past.(but this of course just feeling - not any science behind )
