Hi Juha!

1 - You can set the gain for the hi-hat very low - about 0 to 2 on the 2box seems to be a good value for Roland VH-11. (The piezo is quite hot.) The bow cooler on the Zourman Drums module is a potentiometer which if turned to "-" (Counter clockwise) will cool the signal. I would set it to about 9 o'clock.

2. Hittin horizontally - how do you mean here? (Like Ringo Starr plays on the hi-hat...?)

3 - See 1.

4. If using 2box module (MKi) in environments like basements etc with a lot of earth interferences, then I have occasionally seen some issues - especially if the 2box module have a metal connection to the hi-hat stand. Ping, me if you experience problems here.

5. See 1. The AAX hi-hat is good in my ears...

This my 2 cents - maybe there are other users with good suggestions here!

Hi! Just for fun..and I think my old post disappeared about this...to speed up the discussion on this forum:

I have with Keith’s approval made two test designs based on KRC (Keith Raper Circuit) - but I newer launched them officially. One single circuit implementation and one dual.

In my example below - (KRCs on steroids) I have made them for 2box DrumIt Three and Five MKII which have support for Yamaha 3 zone triggers on the inputs. (Snare input) - in this dual implementation (shown in the video below)...I am feeding a dual KRC with 3 piezo signals(Dual piezos generated from RT-10S and one piezo from BT-1)...and convert 2 of them to switch type of signal.

Works ok for my purposes...I am currently working on a implementation 2 of these boxes with some new technology...we will see if I succeed!

https://youtu.be/OS2ZMNf_EDA

This implementation is demonstrated using 101Drums 3 zone snare sample for 2box. 101Drums snares is a Swedish brand...which is building snares on composite materials which gives you a very good tone. I just saw...even mr Ian Paice got one...

That’s nice!

So You did use the 64GB Sandisk extreme pro and got it working? Have you played with it for a couple of hours with the implementation? The sound glitches will probably show up after a couple of hours of playing.

And please just update for the forum where the blocker was in your case to get it going.

Don’t forget to format the card in fat32 format. (Most 64 GB is formatted in ExFAT as standard)

Hi!

I tested the 64Gb ATP card for 2box about 2 years ago...but they refused the card in the end for some reason. There was some challenges to format it in FAT32...but when this was solved my tests went fine...but 2box did not get the right results or the price was outrageous...or something.

This card is of the type MLC...(this was discussed by Deve on Vdrums) and the findings was that the best cards was of the SLC type. But they are extremely expensive...and with 64GB...outrageous.

Great answers to this everyone.. Good to know that taking the card out and mounting it on PC is the best way.

I have Lustark's Drumit Manger. Not sure i could live without it.. If you don't have it, get it. It is awesome.

Totally agree on that one! DrumIt Manager which includes both the dkit manager and dsound manager is a must have for a 2box user!

True... but it was 10 years ago, and still no other module has that convenience: plug in your module and drag-n-drop your sound files. Of course today it should be usb 2.0 (480 Mbps).

Also, there is no 4 GB limit on USB 1.1 (as sometimes stated), it was just the internal implementation, as the card was built in anyway.

Zaba, Deve.

Hi Deve - you are always right! :-)

That is not the case with the new version Drumit5 MK2, Correct?

If you look carefully on your MKII - the USB connector is gone...so the only way to get the files on to your module is to take out the SD card.

:-)

With the https://www.lustark.com/drumit-manager from Lustark installed on your PC, you get a great overview of all kitbanks/sounds and if things are workings correctly, before saving it back to the SD card.

Hi!

I also tried to source some approved 64 Gb cards from 2box when dealing with the 32 GB cards above - but not even 2box had an approved card. This might be a challenge to get a card which handles FAT32 (instead of the normally used EXFAT for these kind of sizes), is reliable enough to be used in 2box and to the right cost.

There are some great discussions on Vdrums.com why different don’t work...and some do on 2box.

No, this have not changed. You can’t use the usb port when dealing with SD cards above 4 GB, However it is not much to long for anyway. The USB implementation on all Drumits is version 1...and extremely slow...moving sound-files of 100-200 Mb takes forever, to use it you needed to boot up the module in a special USB mode and the USB port didn’t handle midi at all...

So having a card mod is probably the best solution.

You can find the Dsound Manager as a part of the DKIT Manager from Lustark.com

One of the functions found in Dsound Manager is the ability to set the volume per zone on existing dsnd files! A fantastic function!

How do your settings look like on your Three module? Are You using a trs cable (stereo with tip, ring and sleeve connector) between the hihat pad and the 2box unit?
