General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Re: 5 different size toms. 4 imputs
« on: February 28, 2021, 06:44:03 AM »
Hi!

You have 4 dual toms input on the DrumIts. (Head and rim) In this case you could split the Tom 4 input into two toms. (You will only get the head trigger on these toms without rims) Then all together you will get 5 toms with different sounds)

You could also split one of the cymbal inputs to do something similar.

Using a tm2 could also work to get the fifth tom - but going through midi to DrumIt will not permit more toms sounds as output. The sound engine in the drumits will only handle max 4 tom sounds. If you use the sound engine in tm2 - you will add a fifth tom...but it is not connected to the DrumIt at all.

There is no way to go beyond 64 GB...I tried 128 and 256...but immediately when going over partitions above 64GB...the system won’t boot.

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Re: New 2Box Speed Light Kit
« on: February 10, 2021, 05:21:10 AM »

Hi all just got a login for forum.

I'm interested in the hi hat performance of speedlight kit as I've not been able get decent results from my roland cy5 & FD8.
I've seen one vendor online selling a speedlight cymbal set ( HH, Crash, ride) which might be a solution even though I don't really need the crash and ride but I'd guess they will all work fine right out the box.

Welcome to the forum!
Which 2box module are you using with your cy5/fd-8? If three or five mk2...you should get quite descent results out of the box. The hi-hat included in the speedlight kit is a magnet based 1 zone implementation which performs quite well.

DrumIt 5 Hardware / Re: Compatible non Roland Cymbals?

I tested the Jobeky on a exhibition...

And I felt it was quite ok.

The Roland CY-15R works great on MKII...with all zones. Bell, bow, edge and choke. I have also tested Yamaha PCY-155 and that work great on MKII also for all zones.

I have not tested the CY-16 ... but it is a three zone ride with dual connectors...so I am supposing it will work just as good as the cy-15R.

Has it been working...from the beginning?

Jman’s design includes reed switches...where the choke should trigger when squeezing the edge reed.

I get the feeling that these bigger cards seems to be more forgiving and less sensitive for the latency problems, glitches and hiccups. My 64 Gb cards seems to work fantastic.

Is it the same regardless which hihat sound you use?

It is a bit hard to guess the problem by just reading about it...maybe video could be useful what you experience? Normally if you have made calibration between closed an open...the rest of the sounds in between will follow in a smooth way.

This is a great new version! :-)

Jman’s old idea, how to create an extra tight hi-hat layer in 2box...got solved within a mouse click in the new version! (It was quite complex to do it manually earlier)

And there are more goodies! Just to upgrade or buy!! Your best tool for 2box!

Big thanks Lustark!

General 2box Drumit 5 forum / Re: 2box Drumit Five Hi-Hat calibration
« on: January 13, 2021, 07:36:27 PM »
A trick when trying to wake up the calibration on an old DrumIt Fives hi-hat...is to do the opposite...when calibrating. E.g When it is supposed to be in closed mode and your are about to press the calibration button...you open the hit-hat instead...and press the button. And continue to close the hi-hat when it indicates calibration for the open state. If you try this and have working cables, mounted magnet below and the hi-hat pad and still gets “no change”...the hi-hat pedal circuit could be faulty.

I followed the instructions and now I have a working 64 SD Card in my drumit 3, it's the Sandisk Extreme...

Hmm, did the card You copied also show latency issues? To find the right card is maybe still an issue even if moving to 64GB.  My Sandisk Ultra 100 mb/s SD card with 50 cm extender cable seems to work fine...and has done it for a week or so...
