Buy SDSE and forget about your problems  ;)

Not all the sounds are available to download online. I fortunately downloaded all of the sounds on my HDD when the old website was up.

Yeah, when my hi hat PCB failed they sent me a new one free of charge from Sweden via air mail. It took only few days, it was  super fast. It was way past my warranty period. Maybe contact 2box directly and ommit the Germany route.

I can give you exact number of unique samples per instrument from my kit:

Hi hat has a range of 24-36 unique samples per zone/openness state

Toms from hi to low : 43, 33, 33, 33 (Here we can see the inconsistency even within one set of toms!)

Snare: 59 head/20 cross-stick

Crashes - 23-26

Ride: 29 bow/20 bell (Although it sounds great, the dynamic range could be better. you can feel it while playing that it could be more dynamic)

That's for AD.

But when it comes to Drumasonic's samples from 2box websiste:

DS Fat Kick - 65 Layers 8)

Some 2box sounds have even 100 layers e.g. Maple 10 snare

I'm not saying it's all about the layers. When the sound is sh*t, even a thousand layers won't make it sound good.

Well, I can recommend you few kit pieces that I like the most:

Snare - Pearl Reference/Funk

Toms - Ludwig/Blue Oyster

Hi hat - 13 Paiste Heavy/Funk

Ride - 21 Meinl Byzance Dark/Black Oyster

Crashes: 17 Paiste Signature Dark/Studio Prog;
17 Sabian HHX Evolution/Funk
19 Sabian HHX Studio/Studio Rock

For Kick drum I use:
Drumasonic DS Fat Kick sample from 2box website

It's the most versatile kit that I could make from AD. For me these are the most playable sounds. The problem with AD is they the kit pieces differ a lot and the playability may vary drastically. They may sound nice in a groove but here and there you may notice the snares are not so dynamic, the hi hat splashes are abrupt and sound unnatural. The SD is more uniform, all the pieces fit together nicely, it may not be that easy with AD.

Well, to be honest... They didn't show anything new yet, right? Just a combination of drumit 3 and 5. The SD card was always there, now they just did what we were doing for years. Giving us access to the SD card. The new sounds and pads are exciting though  8)

I had similar problems with the hi hat. Search through my posts and read it. The topic name went something like "hi hat problem" First try to exclude the obvious things, cable, connection, calibration. Try newest software etc. If all fails, contact 2Box. The hi hat circuit board was updated some time ago, maybe 2box can help you with that. If you have any further questions I may be able to help you. Cheers!

BTW, what was wrong with the module in the first place that you had it repaired?

Hey, with the help of one of the users I found(actually he did 8) ) a card that actually on the specs performs better than the original ATP card. I do not have the module with me to test it but when I confirm it's good I will post more info! Cheers!

Thank you for your replay. I do have most of the sounds myself fortunately. What staggers me is the 2box approach ::)
The sounds are the strongest feature of the module. I don't simply understand why limit the library for users. If they had the sounds before, why delete them? They should try attract new users by adding new, unique sounds. Maybe they will add them later.

The website you are referring was I believe the German distributor site. Hyperactive? But I can't locate the download page

This should be simpler than this, more user friendly  ::)

Yeah, I know the links. With all due respect, I wouldn't be posting if the sounds were actually there. I've searched the website through and through... I see only 2 pages of sounds under the first link. Downloaded also the DI-3 and DI-3 content from support page... Maybe I'm blind but could anyone tell me when to locate for instance files named:

"DS Fat Kick.dsnd"
"DS Natural Snare.dsnd"

Cheers!

Hey guys,

is it me or the new 2box online sample library is actually missing a lot of sounds that the old website had?

For instance, where are those sweet snares and kicks from drumasonic?  :-[

all the loops, songs etc... Goddammit

Well, the problem is less occurrent recently, but it's still there somewhere waiting like a lurking animal in the dark 8) it still happens sometimes. I contacted 2box some time ago and they suspect it's a wiring issue. They suggested sending it to a distributor for a repair... so I believe it's not an easy fix :( Also, the rubber on my hi hat split on the edge and I want to replace it with the new one. I peeled off the rubber succesfully :D the rest of the cymbal is glued so well that it will be really difficult to take apart without damaging. The top metal disc is very thin and it is glued onto kinda double taped foam material. The wires are hidden between two metal plates. By taking apart the controller box you can see part of the piezo and the solder points are visible too and they look alright. The cymbal triggers correctly so that only confirms that. I believe the problem is with the other 2 wires connecting the edge switch somewhere inside... Do any of you guys took their cymbal apart and can advice me something? I know nothing is impossible but is it worth trying?

Here is a pic for you guys wondering how the cymbal is constructed

Personally, I would glue the rubber over the bigger surface, not only on the centre. I believe that's the reason that 2box cymbals have less rebound than the acoustic cymbals. There is a gap between the rubber and metal and it feels sometimes like playing on a cushion.

Cheers!

Hi guys, can anyone post a photo or the exact model name of a working 32 gb(or 16gb possibly) sd card that is still available to buy. I scanned through the topic and the lexars seems to be the safest choice. But there are so many types and models... My last two purchases were not successful and I got discouraged :-[

Thanks guys and cheers!

Can anyone confirm this card?

Hi, thanks for you reply.

Oh boy, I don't remember the version of the OS. It is not the newest, but I believe second to last? I don't have the module with me to check. Well, neither did I heard about similar case before. If this happened at home I could investigate it but being it a live situation... First thought was just to reboot it and hope for the best. I use the original sd card, never had problems with it. The module was not humid or anything. I don't have any midi cable/interface hooked to it to interfere with the program change, midi transpose etc.

Hi guys, long time no see!

Last weekend I played at a wedding gig just as usual. I basically use two kits live, one acoustic sounding and the other electro kinda type. I changed from one kit to the other, started playing the song and all the sound sources were mixed up! When I hit the kick drum, the crash cymbal was triggered, hit the hi hat, and the ride cymbal was triggered and so on. It was all a bloody mess, non of the sound sources matched with the pads/inputs. It is the first time something like this happened to me. We had to take a technical break and apologize to the guests, it was super embarrassing. Fortunately, after rebooting the module all was fine and it didn't happen again.

Does any of you guys experienced similar issues? Do you have any idea what could cause such behaviour?

I appreciate your help. Cheers!
